About me

Embarking on counselling may feel quite anxious and overwhelming, but you're not alone - I'm here to guide and support you. Together, we'll develop strategies to empower you in facing challenges, building coping mechanisms, and achieving growth. Whether your journey is short or long-term, my commitment is to your wellbeing.

Each path is unique, and your journey is exclusively yours. I'll walk beside you, offering guidance and support as you navigate this transformative process. You can overcome challenges and embrace positive change. I provide an environment that's secure, confidential, and judgment-free, prioritizing your privacy and peace.

I will offer you empathy, I understand that life does not always work out the way we planned, sometimes dark clouds weigh heavily on our mind. I will listen to you and value and respect you for who you are without casting any judgement. You will not be pressured to discuss anything you find uncomfortable. When you're ready to open up I will be there.

Opening up is never easy but neither is carrying the weight of issues embedded within, we try to simply manage and carry on. I am here for you and will be present in your world, walking beside you to gain a deep understanding of what you're going through. Whether it's anxiety you are struggling with or stress, we can work through issues together, so you can be your true self once more.

Telephone/online sessions offer an accessibility that is not dependant on your location allowing anybody to access my services, in the comfort of their own surroundings. Online sessions are via, Teams, Google Meets and Whatsapp platforms.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have studied other approaches which I will incorporate some of the strategies I have learned, to enhance my sessions, if I feel it will benefit my client. I have experience of working with trauma from teenagers and adulthood, male and female. Counselling can be a something that you have thought about, but feel apprehensive about it, as it's the unknown. By having a call with me you will feel at ease, when the abundance of questions you may have, are answered.

Further information

  • I bring a background as a qualified nurse, and I've skillfully applied this experience to enhance my role as a qualified counsellor. This unique blend of healthcare and counselling expertise sets the stage for exceptional support. The emotions we go through not only impact our mental health but also has a knock on effect on our bodies.
  •  I currently offer online or telephone counselling, accommodating your preferred choice. I do offer walk and talk therapy if within my locality and this would be discussed in assessment.
  • In my counselling practice, I work with a broad spectrum of clients, of different age groups and gender.
  • Some clients have approached counselling due to undergoing medical treatment or live with long term medical conditions, such as fibromyalgia, menopause, arthritis, migraines, lupus, and many others.
  • This unique blend of medical and counselling expertise enables me to empower my clients through coping strategies, drawing on my nursing knowledge and an understanding of the additional emotions and feelings that can be attached when health is at the centre. I do not diagnose medical conditions, but have an understanding of how it affects your emotional wellbeing.
  • At the core of my practice is a commitment to providing a secure and confidential space where clients are being heard without any judgement.
  • Your comfort and readiness are paramount, especially when addressing long-held traumas that can be challenging to discuss. In our sessions, you are in control, setting the pace and exploring issues at your own discretion.

I am here to accompany you on your journey, offering support every step of the way and ultimately empowering you to regain control of your life. Together, we will work towards a place where you once again hold the reins to your destiny. As sessions are remote I cater for all client locations.
