About me

A warm and empathetic counsellor, offering face to face or online counselling in central Winchester, with parking.  I also offer Walk and Talk Therapy if being outside appeals to you. I work with all adults (18+)

I can offer you a safe setting to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences to enable you to move forward with your life.  Together we can work to create an increased sense of wellbeing for you.

I believe that, given the time, space and empathy people have the capacity to change and grow.

If you are:
·      Dealing with feelings of anxiety and depression.
·      Facing challenges with a relationship or family issues
·      Are dealing with the aftermath of a trauma
·      Suffering from low self-esteem or self-confidence
·      Are struggling with work or life stress
·      Struggling to face changes
·      Facing uncertainty
·      Finding a situation distressing
·      Feeling stuck in life

Then I can work with you to create the change or understanding you need. I will offer you the option of a creative experiment, using objects or drawing equipment to explore your issue from a different perspective or if this does not appeal to you I am here to listen and understand how you see the world.

My clients have said they feel motivated, more resilient and lighter following counselling.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their professional standards and ethics.  I attend regular supervision and continuous professional development.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a Gestalt Counsellor I am interested to explore what the world and events mean to you and how they impact you.  I understand that you are the expert in yourself and my role is to work with you to challenge and explore your feelings and beliefs and to enable growth and change.  My aim is to raise awareness of your patterns of behaviour with the intention to facilitate change.   I will offer you the time and space and follow your pace and respect your boundaries.

As a Walk and Talk Therapist, I can offer you the opportunity to take your counselling sessions outside.

  • I have worked in a University and a Charity setting with adults age 18+.  I have helped them face change, loss, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues and feeling of not being good enough.  Alongside, working with their past trauma, sexuality and difficulties in relationships.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
