About me

Taking the first steps in reaching out to a counsellor can feel daunting, however, when we reach a point in our lives when we need some support and an independent listening ear, it can be a relief to find someone who shows you empathy, understanding and the space to talk. I encourage you to get in touch by email or phone, I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to talk through your needs.

The therapeutic relationship I offer is key to the work we do together, establishing a deep and safe connection to allow you to explore the challenges you face. My warm and genuine approach will help you develop personal awareness and promote healing and effective change. Being able to talk in a confidential, supportive and accepting environment can help you work towards the change that is right for you.

My experience has allowed me the opportunity to work with people experiencing bereavement and other loss, relationship issues, low self-esteem, depression and anxiety, work-related stress, childhood, physical and emotional trauma, as well as the day-to-day challenges of supporting families and friends who are suffering long-term mental or physical illness.

I understand the importance of feeling heard and seen. Experiencing empathy, support and encouragement can be incredibly empowering. The benefit of investing in yourself, taking time to talk openly and work through things that feel challenging, will lead to finding a way forward, whilst also giving you tools to help manage difficulties and ultimately lead to a greater understanding of yourself.

I work on the Dorset/Hampshire border near the New Forest and can offer you beautiful private counselling spaces in Highcliffe or Ringwood. I also work online using the Zoom platform or over the telephone if that is more appropriate.

I am a fully qualified counsellor offering both short and long term therapy which can be adjusted to suit your needs. As a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, you can be assured that I uphold their ethical standards and practices.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
