About me

Are you always arguing with your other half?  Do you long to feel the romance you felt back in the beginning when you first met?  Imago couples therapy really works!

Contact me to change the direction of your relationship from heading to break-up to building a bridge between the two of you.  I will help you both learn a new way to communicate with each other - it's called the Imago Dialogue technique, first developed by Harville Hendrix and his partner, Helen LaKelly Hunt in the 1980's that is on point for today.

Hendrix and LaKelly Hunt's theory behind Imago couples therapy is that many people enter into what they call "The Unconscious Marriage" - a marriage (partnership) that includes all of the hidden desires and automatic behaviours that are left over from childhood and that inexorably lead couples into conflict."

Your partner is not a mind-reader!  Come for Imago couples therapy with me and learn how to feel heard by your partner, as well as how to really listen to your partner, so they too feel heard by you!  Give your relationship another chance to thrive and feel the love between you once again.

Are you co-parenting children together after separation or divorce? Imago therapy can help you communicate better with your ex-partner which will benefit the rest of your children's lives.

Have you recently got engaged?  Congratulations to you both!  Set your relationship on the right track from the get-go as you begin your exciting life journey together.

Are you and your boss not getting along?  Maybe you and a work colleague clash over coffee - Imago therapy can help!

Do you dread Christmas and birthdays? Are you struggling to resolve conflict in other family relationships?  Imago therapy can reunite adult daughters and sons with mothers and fathers before it is too late, or improve relationships between adult siblings.  Come and resolve family estrangement and improve the quality of your family relationships too.

Imago therapy works just as well online as it does face to face!  All you need is two upright dining chairs, a smartphone or laptop, and the desire to recommit to each other and to do the work!  Leave the rest to me, your Imago couples therapist, and I will help you both every step of the way.

Get the life you want through individual counselling too!  Difficulties in childhood haunted me as an adult.  Therapy gave me inner-strength, a fresh new outlook and inspired me to become a psychotherapist.

It is never too late to rewrite your life story.  I will help you get the life you really want to live through individual Transactional Analysis psychotherapy.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
