Are you feeling stuck?
It's time to take action
I have lots of experience dealing with anxiety and have suffered with anxiety and some of the symptoms myself in the past. Because of that experience I have a good success rate in helping people recover
We'll go to the doctor when we feel unwell physically: sore throat, flu, bad cough. So why don’t we see a health professional when we feel emotional pain: guilt, loss or loneliness, if we are feeling sad or having relationship issues or family issues, breakups/divorce or family betrayal, there are too many to mention all of them, but we can all be affected in some way. Too many of us deal with common psychological-health issues on our own, but we don’t have to. We can go and see someone, someone who will be able to understand our situation and help. Emotional health is as important as breaking your leg and you certainly wouldn't leave that untreated, would you? You would go and see the doctor, that trained professional who you know and trust will help you.
I focus on working with you, to help you feel at ease and comfortable when coming to counselling. If you feel nervous or anxious about attending counselling this is also something we can work on and help you feel more relaxed about. I possess a natural quality that makes people feel at ease, which is great for a potential client seeking counselling who may be feeling anxious about seeing a counsellor and what it entails.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. This means I use three approaches to counselling, these approaches are: Person Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I am also a registered member of the BACP and I am an approved therapist with Anxiety UK

How Counselling can Help You
I am dedicated to providing you with a confidential and safe environment, this environment is also built around the therapeutic relationship. A client is usually more successful in counselling when they experience a positive and professional relationship with their counsellor. Work can be challenging but is massively insightful and influential for you the client. with your commitment we will find ways together that suit you and work best for you. Belief, dedication and hard work really do create successful results.
What To Expect In Your First Session
Your first session will initially focus on "contracting". Contracting or a "Working Agreement" in Counselling is very important, it addresses things like "confidentiality", "appointment times", "fees" and other areas of counselling. In this session you are made aware of the service I offer and can expect to receive at all stages of your counselling journey. This part of counselling is important for us both to agree on and understand due to the nature of our relationship. After we have looked at the working agreement and you are happy with the offer of service we will then start to explore your "presenting issue". It is called this because often what clients initially focus on in the first session is not always what is really troubling them and that can surface later. The first session allows you to get a feel for counselling and gives us an opportunity to begin to establish that all important therapeutic relationship, which is so influential in counselling success.
