About me

Hello, over the past 15 years I have supported parents, adults, teens and children, to create and understand their unique environment to thrive and improve their emotional wellbeing.  I offer support for:

Parent/Carers - I specialise in supporting parents to understand and support their children and family issues. A lot of parents worry about their children and adolescents; how to effectively support them emotionally. How to connect with their child/ young person if they’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, depression, identity etc and to understand and respond compassionately to their behaviour and emotions. I will guide and equip you with tools and strategies to maintain a loving connection and open communication with your family.

To reduce parental stress, overwhelm and manage emotional distress. Increase your calm, to feel more connection with your children and bring the happiness back into your own life as well as your families.

Adults - I offer a safe place for you to discuss your life, your experiences and how that impacts your emotional well being.

I have worked with many people who are Highly Sensitive People (HSP) or have a Highly Sensitive Child (HSC) to understand their world and how to feel visible/understood or cope with their environment.

Children and Young People - As children and young people can feel isolated in their lives, often struggling with anxiety, low self esteem, identity, the pressures of education and how they’re meant to ‘fit’ into the world. I can gently and effectively supports them through their challenges,  teach them how to navigate their life, so they can discover their unique resilience and thrive.

Please call or email me if you're curious to learn how I work and how I might be able to support you.

I look forward to hearing from you

'I faced many challenges when I first came into contact with Abigail. I was faced with a very challenging home life with my two children. I also had problems communicating with my children and managing constructively their emotional outbursts. Furthermore, I had lost a lot of self-confidence in my own parenting skills and ability to communicate effectively with my children. The change I experienced was largely down to Abigail's empathetic, yet knowledgeable approach to my situation. She had a range of strategies for me to try and was able to break through my natural reticence towards any kind of 'therapy'. Her approach allowed me to see my situation from my children's perspective and enabled me to re-connect with them once more. I saw over the months how my very angry son became less angry. Much of this was a result of a change in my attitude towards his behaviour and who he was as an individual. Abigail has both patience and perserverance in equal measure.  She also has a very keen sense of humour - which is always useful in difficult situations. I recommend Abigail unreservedly.' E.A, London

'My sessions with Abigail were truly remarkable. I am a HSP and she understood me. She skilfully identified the root cause of my issues and guided me safely through the experience of release and change. She was really compassionate, understanding and gentle. I felt fully supported, safe and looked after during a release of a stressful and traumatic experience, which she supported me to resolve. For this I am truly grateful, Thank you.'   T, M, Sheffield

'I started seeing Abigail as I was suffering from low self esteem, anxiety, panic attacks and felt I was ‘too much’. Since working with Abigail, I’ve gained more understanding and compassion for myself, I feel more grounded, accepting and in-control of myself . I have discovered powerful and effective coping strategies and they are part of my daily routine. Abigail is amazing! The work we did together was very powerful.' A.L Italy & London

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
