About us

The Counselling Alliance offers a warm welcoming environment. We are able to offer appointments at both Kettering and Northampton. We pride ourselves on being professional, honest and ethical. Appointments arranged to suit you. Costs from £25-45 a session. Please visit our full website for more detailed information.

We offer a limited free service with a placement counsellor for people on low income or receiving benefit. full details on our web page.

We offer a counselling and supervision service for clients. All our counsellors are members of the BACP or a recognised professional body, are accredited or working towards accreditation. All our counsellors work within the BACP ethical framework and will be qualified (exception with our trainee) to at least level 4 Diploma, and have done at least 100 hours counselling during their training. Our more experienced counsellors have achieved well over 1000 hours of counselling and some a masters degree in their specialised subject, experienced in offering short- and long-term therapy. We are able to offer couples and one to one counselling.

Newly qualified counsellors will be supported and mentored closely by the more experienced counsellors. All the counsellors attend regular supervision and ongoing training courses to enhance their skills and expertise.

With sessions starting at £25. we hope to enable more people to gain access to affordable counselling. We have a free service offering 8 initial sessions and a further 8 at a low cost of £10 each.  There is an initial assessment to support you in finding the right counsellor.

Training, qualifications & experience

All our counsellors are qualified to at least level 4 Diploma and have done at least 100 hours counselling during their training. (exception with our trainee)

Our more experienced counsellors have well over a 1000 hours of client work, and some a Masters degree in their specialist subject. We offer short-and long-term therapy one-one or couples counselling.

We have counsellors that are person-centred and integrative trained. Some of our counsellors are also experienced couple counsellors and trained in Mindfulness.

We are also able to offer supervision with experienced counselling supervisors who are both qualified as counsellors and supervisors.

All our counsellors attend regular ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Your first appointment will be an assessment, this is for us to get to know a little bit about you, and to make sure our counselling service is the right support for you. This is £20 (exception with free service)

Limited free service short term counselling.
Low cost counselling offered from £25 a session with counsellors who have recently qualified at diploma level already have completed at least 100 hours counselling practise.

£35 a session with a counsellor who has a minimum of a diploma in counselling and is at least 2 years post qualification.

£45 a session for counselling with a counsellor that has a degree or has extensive experience.

£45 a session for working with couples.
