About me
Thank you for taking the time to look through my profile. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
I am a qualified, experienced psychotherapist and counsellor registered with the BACP. I hold a Master's degree in psychotherapy and counselling and offer professional counselling online and from my therapy room based in Bolton.
Painful experiences that are not acknowledged can become a barrier to happiness.
You may be finding life difficult at the moment because of current life events or past experiences.
I have seen how therapy can improve the quality of life and emotional well-being for people who have experienced both short and longer-term issues and help prevent similar difficulties in the future.
Talking through problems helps to untangle the issues you're struggling with, enabling you to gain insights to overcome self-limiting beliefs, build resilience and find emotional balance.
We often find the easiest way to cope with uncomfortable feelings arising from painful experiences is to bury them deep down inside or mask them with alcohol or drugs.
Sharing how you feel to someone genuinely listening and hearing what you say can bring a sense of relief as if an emotional weight is lifting.
I have experience working with a broad range of issues, including:
- depression
- anxiety
- self-hate, worthlessness, low self-esteem
- family break-up
- domestic abuse
- issues stemming from childhood
- loneliness, grief, loss
- prolonged sadness
- work-related issues
I work with people who have experienced abuse - emotional, psychological and physical.
It takes courage to confront the complexities of an emotionally abusive relationship. The first step is acknowledging the abuse and that it's not your fault. Talking about your experiences within a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe and not judged can feel validating and healing.
I have professional experience working with autistic people and people with ADHD, and I understand the complexities of living with a neurodivergent brain.
Therapy can help you:
- Acknowledge and express your feeling.
- Reduce confusion and become clearer about your next steps
- Explore how you would like things to be
- Increase self-esteem and self-worth
- Feel more in control of your own life
- Identify self-limiting beliefs
- Improve your relationship with yourself and others

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
