About me

About me & my practice

Welcome to my profile. My name is Victoria, and I am an Accredited counsellor with 12 years’ counselling experience. I offer remote sessions only.

The main focus of my training and my work comes from the principles of the Person-Centred approach and Gestalt therapy. I believe in putting you at the centre of the work. I will listen to you as you tell your story. My aim is to get to know and understand you, with the belief that the best way to empower and help someone is to tap into their strengths and wisdom within.

I look at you as an individual; I don't try to fit you into a box. By giving you a safe, and non-judgmental space, we can begin to learn and process what hurts you and how, together, we can help make it better for you by addressing and resolving emotions attached to past events in the here and now.

As an Integrative therapist, when the therapeutic relationship is established, and if appropriate and okay with you, I use different tools and techniques from other theories to help you.

What I can help with

· Are you experiencing low self-esteem and confidence, believing that your thoughts and opinions are not important and that you’re not enough?

· Do you find yourself saying yes even if you want to say no?

· Did you experience negative childhood experiences or trauma as an adult that impacts your self-image and sense of worth?

The people that I work with are usually feeling stuck and desire change in their lives. They want to move forward positively but feel held back by past memories and suppressed feelings of things that happened to them, or by negative ideas and beliefs about who they are. I help you to unpick these negative thoughts, feelings, and beliefs in the here and now to heal emotional wounds. The goal is for you to be less impacted by the past, so that you can be your authentic self, and live the life that you want.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
