About me

Life can be overwhelming, and the ability to cope with everyday issues can become challenging. I have a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and my integrative approach enables me to work with you using a combination of therapeutic approaches best suited to you as an individual. I work in an empathetic manner, from a person centred base, to support you to work through any issues in your life, and offer either short or long term therapy.

I have experience of working with both adults, and adolescents and young people aged between 11-18, presenting with a wide range of issues, including stress and anxiety, depression, neurodiversity (including ADHD), panic attacks, work and school related stress, family and relationship/friendship issues, mental health difficulties, financial difficulties, transition and careers, self-esteem and confidence, sense of self and place in the world.

I also work with clients who have experienced bereavement, who are either living with a serious illness themselves, or are caring for someone who has a serious illness. It can be incredibly difficult to face any form of loss, and the changes that brings to both you and your life. If you are struggling to cope with your feelings of loss or grief, I can support you through the process, helping you to find acceptance and a meaningful way forward.

I work within the BACP ethical frameworks, from a professional therapeutic room. I am able to provide socially distanced face to face sessions, and can also offer the opportunity of online sessions if that is your preference.

Making the decision to speak to another individual about concerns in your life, is a brave and courageous step. Every journey begins with that first step. I work with clients to establish a warm and trusted therapeutic relationship to gently work through your issues to enable you to explore your own story. If you feel that that you would like to make further enquiries after reading my profile please contact me and I will aim to respond within 24 hours.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
