About me
There are times when the stresses and strains of life can seem overwhelming; when the thought of having to make yet another decision, or put on a brave face once again, can feel like the straw that might break the camel’s back.
I will offer you a non-judgemental, safe space to explore any issues, challenges, anxieties or general feelings of unhappiness or apathy that may be making you feel that you have lost your way, or even yourself. You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the problems you are facing and through doing so- develop new perspectives on life and capacities for growth and change; finding a way out of the fog, whilst developing a way of being, that will enable you to draw on your own inner resources for a clearer, happier future.
I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I am fully insured and work from a private practice in Newport Pagnell as well as having the opportunity to use a room at the West Bletchley Well Being and Counselling Service, should that be more convenient for you.

I am committed to continuing my professional development, which means that I regularly attend workshops and training and have gained certificates in many different areas of mental health and well-being.
I have worked at a community-based counselling service for the past 5 years in a number of different roles and within this time, I have gained experience of working with clients from diverse backgrounds, who have come to counselling with a very varied range of issues. I have worked in both brief and long-term therapy. I also spent some time working at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre.
I attained a BSL Level 2 qualification in 2005 and have worked with two deaf clients. I am not fluent in BSL but have an understanding of deaf awareness and have some sign language ability.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
