About me
Life's challenges, from anxiety, OCD, and panic attacks to bereavement, loss, and relationship issues, can feel overwhelming. Perhaps you're grappling with depression, stress, low self-esteem, or simply feeling out of sorts. Whatever you're navigating—significant life changes, profound sadness, or a general sense of unease—you don't have to face it alone.
Often, clients have already wrestled with what's bothering them before coming to therapy. My service is designed around your unique experience. I believe you are the expert in yourself, and I offer my deep listening and empathy, alongside my professional expertise, to support your journey. Think of me as your sat nav: you're in the driver's seat, and I'm here to guide you. While I won't have all the answers, and neither do you—yet—together we'll work collaboratively to explore your feelings, develop coping strategies, and find pathways to a more fulfilling life.
To begin, please use the "Email" or "Visit Website" buttons at the top of this page. If you are self-funding, we can arrange a complimentary 20-minute discovery consultation to see if we're a good fit for working together. If your sessions are covered by an insurer, please get in touch to arrange your first full session.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a highly qualified and experienced therapist dedicated to providing effective and compassionate support. My commitment to ongoing professional development ensures I offer the most current and evidence-based approaches, empowering you in your journey.
Core Therapeutic Qualifications
My core therapeutic training includes:
CPCAB Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision: This advanced qualification signifies my expertise in clinical supervision, reflecting a deep understanding of ethical practice, professional development, and supporting other therapists in their work.
CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling: This comprehensive diploma equipped me with the in-depth knowledge, skills, and competencies to work effectively as a self-employed counsellor in independent practice, addressing a wide range of client needs.
My foundational education is rooted in an integrative approach, skillfully blending Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. This enables me to offer a responsive and comprehensive therapeutic style, tailored to your unique needs.
Professional Accreditations
I am a BACP Accredited Therapist, a rigorous mark of quality that signifies a higher level of qualification and and demonstrates a substantial depth of training and experience beyond standard membership. This accreditation reflects my unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical and professional practice in counselling.
EMDR Europe Accredited Training: I hold accredited training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective psychotherapy for processing traumatic experiences and other distressing life events. This accreditation demonstrates a rigorous standard of training and proficiency in this specialized modality.
Specialized Training & Modalities
Beyond my foundational training, I've pursued specialized qualifications to broaden my therapeutic scope, with a particular focus on evidence-based approaches for specific challenges:
Extensive Professional Development in OCD Treatment (including Exposure and Response Prevention - ERP): My significant training and continuous professional development specifically address the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), including what's commonly referred to as "Covert O" (formerly "Pure O"). My expertise primarily lies in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), recognized as the gold-standard, highly effective treatment for OCD. This specialized training ensures I can guide clients towards meaningful and lasting change with expertise and sensitivity.
Relate Couple Counselling Training (Systemic Modality with a Humanistic Foundation): My training with Relate is grounded in a systemic modality, which I integrate with a humanistic and person-centred, no-blame approach. This empowers couples to understand their relationship dynamics and improve communication patterns in a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space, fostering stronger connections.
I also draw upon the principles of Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Transactional Analysis (TA) to enrich my practice and offer diverse pathways for exploration and growth.
Professional Experience
My extensive experience spans working with individuals and couples facing a wide range of challenges, with a particular focus on anxiety (including OCD and Covert O), bereavement and loss, and relationship issues.
A significant part of my professional journey includes seven years as a bereavement volunteer and supervisor at Cruse Bereavement Support. This invaluable experience provided me with a deep understanding of grief and loss, allowing me to compassionately support individuals through complex bereavement processes and to effectively guide and mentor other support workers in this sensitive field.
I also spent a couple of years as a counsellor at Woking College Sixth Form, gaining valuable experience in supporting young adults through developmental challenges, academic pressures, and personal difficulties.
I'm committed to continuous learning and regularly engage in professional development to enhance my skills and stay abreast of the latest therapeutic research and techniques.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My Practice & Ways of Working
My comfortable and confidential practice is situated in the heart of Weybridge, within a dedicated therapy room in my home. There's ample parking available on my driveway. If you're travelling by public transport, I'm located just five minutes from Weybridge railway station. Please be aware that there is a step up through the front door, and the room itself is not able to accommodate a wheelchair.
I understand the importance of finding a format that suits your needs and lifestyle, which is why I offer sessions that can be conducted face-to-face, online via a secure video platform, or by phone. All sessions are held with the utmost confidentiality. While many clients appreciate the visual connection and presence that online sessions offer, others find that phone therapy provides an unmatched sense of privacy and safety, enabling them to feel more open and honest. For online therapy, I've invested in a high-quality camera and sound system on a hard-wired connection, backed by business-grade broadband. This dedicated setup ensures exceptionally clear audio and video, providing a stable, private, and seamless experience designed to foster a connection that's as comfortable and engaging as possible, no matter how you choose to connect.
Confidentiality and ethical practice are paramount in my work. As a BACP Accredited Therapist, I adhere to their stringent Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, ensuring your privacy and professional standards are always upheld. You can trust that our sessions provide a truly safe, non-judgmental space where you can speak freely and openly.
