About me

It takes great courage to consider therapy and I have deep admiration for you doing so. My personal experience of therapy has shown me how important it is to find the right counsellor, and I hope after reading more about my approach and what I can support you with, helps you decide if I’m the therapist you would like alongside you.

You may be considering therapy to explore issues, thoughts and feelings that are currently causing concern and distress. Not limited to, but issues such as bereavement, relationships, trauma, employment, anger, addiction, family conflict, self esteem, etc.

You may feel stuck, unfulfilled and attribute this to early life experiences, often having a significant impact in the present. Through bringing awareness to these areas, therapy can help provide you with a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and see you make fundamental changes. As a humanistic therapist, I see the relationship formed with each client as a central element to any changes, hopes and wishes client’s may want from their time in therapy.

I have a specialist interest in attachment and trauma, being alongside clients where these key elements have been essential in their growth and increasing deeper understanding of how they are in their world. I have a particular passion for male mental health and understanding of the many factors that impact men accessing psychological support.

I currently offer face to face therapy as well as Zoom sessions. I offer a reduced price (£30) assessment session, where I ask for a history of what brings you to therapy. This time provides you with an opportunity to ask questions and decide if you could see yourself working with me. If we agree to work together, sessions will be charged at £55 for 50minutes.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
