About me

I am open for face to face counselling sessions. All safety precautions are in place.

As a qualified counsellor, all my focus is on helping adults and young adults to find and own their path in life. Throughout my career, I have sought to support others, helping make their desire to change tangible, and explore the various options open to them. This is all borne out of recognising that all of our life experiences are unique – there is no right or wrong – but sometimes we need the time and space and trust to talk about these experiences.

I am a qualified Humanistic Gestalt counsellor and trained in Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET). As a Registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy, I abide by their ethical framework.

Having worked as an Emotional Literacy Support for 10 years, I understand the many challenges young people face. I also volunteered with a charity and the NHS providing support to adults with addiction issues, work that I am incredibly proud to be involved with.

I work in a purpose-built studio, set in a quiet rural location. It has been designed specifically to create the right counselling environment. It is located 2 miles from the village of Wickham, and in easy reach from Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton.

I would be delighted to help you – please do contact me either by phone or email. I am currently seeing clients face to face in a safe environment.

I am also a Level 6 qualified Supervisor and offer one to one Supervision.  I have extensive experience working with young people and the wider adult field.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am qualified at Diploma level in Humanistic Gestalt counselling and I am a lecturer on the Diploma Humanistic counselling course, supporting students as they train to become qualified therapists.

I successfully completed Level 5 Certificate in Counselling Young People as recommended by the BACP.

I am a Level 6 qualified Supervisor, offering one to one supervision.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
