About me

I offer adults and young people counselling and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping)  in the Swindon area, face to face in a Covid secure environment and online.

I believe in treating the whole person, working holistically, ensuring that the relationship between client and therapist is open, honest and non-judgemental.  At the same time, ensuring that they feel comfortable in a ‘safe space’ environment.

Counselling can help people in many ways and can address many issues.  These might include anxiety and depression, feeling trapped by the past, low self-esteem, stress, difficulty in relationships, decision making, and feeling anxious about the future.

As well as counselling I offer EFT which is an exciting breakthrough in therapy and personal development. It is a treatment tool for anxieties, fears, trauma, procrastination, addictions, weight loss and much more; a gentle, highly effective way to transform any issues, blocking emotional happiness or personal achievement.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained as an integrative person-centred counsellor qualifying in 2014. This allows me to draw upon lots of different ways of working, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Transactional Analysis (TA) to name a few, so that I can tailor the sessions to your needs rather than to how I work.

I gained my experience initially working for the charity Cotswold Counselling, which is dedicated to the relief of emotional distress caused by mental or physical ill health affecting people in the Cotswolds and the surrounding areas. This was followed by 3 years in Farmor's Secondary School working with 11-18 year olds and I am currently at Cirencester 6th form college working as a counsellor as well as working for the NHS, counselling NHS staff members.

I am a Registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and my Registration Number is 321016

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (QCF) European Qualification Framework Level 5. Awarded by the CBCAB.

I also hold a BACP Certificate of Proficiency

Therapeutic Counselling Levels 1, 2 & 3

Post Qualifying Cotswold Counselling Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People

Being a trained and qualified counsellor, I adhere to the ethical framework and code of good practice of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy www.bacp.co.uk). I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurances.

I also have certificates of training in:

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
