About me
I have lots of passion and empathy around supporting children (14+), young people and adults through difficult times. Life can be tough and reaching out to someone can be really daunting which is why I provide a 'safe' space for you to talk about and explore what may have happened to you in your past and how this may be impacting your present.
All of us benefit from feeling listened to, accepted and understood. I believe in treating the whole person within a therapeutic relationship, working holistically to ensure that the relationship between client and therapist is open, honest, non-judgemental in a confidential space.
Counselling can help people in many ways and can address many issues. These might include anxiety and depression, feeling trapped by the past, low self-esteem, stress, difficulty in relationships, decision making, and feeling anxious about the future.
As well as counselling I offer EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique - Tapping) which is an exciting breakthrough in therapy and personal development. It is a treatment tool for anxieties, fears, trauma, procrastination, addictions, weight loss and much more; a gentle, highly effective way to transform any issues, blocking emotional happiness or personal achievement.
Training, qualifications & experience
For the last 10 years I have worked face to face and online in lots of different settings, the NHS, counselling NHS staff, young people 16 to 20 at Cirencester College, Farmor's Secondary School, Cotswold Counselling and more recently in Private Practice.
I trained as an integrative person-centred counsellor qualifying in 2014. Integrative counselling allows me to draw upon lots of different ways of working, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Transactional Analysis (TA) to name a few, this means that I am able to tailor the sessions to your needs rather than to how I work.

I continually update my knowledge and understanding of issues that clients bring, through Continued Professional Development and reading widely. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their ethical framework for good practice.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
