About me

I am an experienced, qualified counsellor working with adults and young people in Trafford, South Manchester., My area of provision includes supporting adults with issues ranging from anxiety, stress, grief, depression, narcissistic behaviours and traits of others, self-worth issues, low self-esteem, isolation, worry, and identity loss, along with family or relationship issues, including my specialism in men's mental health and well-being.

I am a fully qualified, BACP registered member and fully insured. I will ensure that you are protected and safe during your sessions, and you can be confident that all sessions are confidential. I work within an ethical framework. I provide a structured, professional therapy service that you can rely on.

I offer face-to-face sessions or online appointments to suit your needs and offer a free 20-minute conversation by either telephone or Zoom to talk through your requirements beforehand. I have a counselling room in Trafford M16, which also has disabled access and facilities with on-site parking and easy reach to a main tram line. This allows me to be flexible in how YOUR therapy is arranged, whether once a week, fortnightly, or online and face-to-face. My therapy service can be arranged around your life, so we can discuss what you need during the introductory call.

I know that touching base with a counsellor can be extremely daunting. With this in mind, I suggest sending a message as the first step. I can then answer any questions you may have before we arrange any appointments.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked as a voluntary counsellor within the private sector, supporting adults with issues ranging from anxiety, stress, grief, depression, narcissistic behaviours of others and self-worth issues. I have experience working with young people within a council-based drop-in centre, providing counselling for 16 years+ teenagers on an individual and group basis.

In my career within education, I have communicated with many people at all levels, ensuring confidentiality, safeguarding, and privacy. Empathy and listening skills have always been a high priority for everyone, which I will continuously demonstrate to you.

I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and offer an initial free-of-charge consultation without commitment online or by telephone. I work with clients on a private 1:1 basis and work by a firm ethical code of practice as set out by my accrediting body of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP), of which I am an individual member and frequently attend continuing professional development courses and workshops to enable me to be more knowledgeable in my areas of counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

As a counsellor, my passion for this profession is profoundly rooted in its transformative impact on clients and myself.

I will allow you to see that change is possible with inner work on oneself. I have experienced it firsthand. Change begins in the therapeutic relationship with trust, empathy, and association within your  own inner belief system, as you are the expert on yourself.

Similarly, establishing a relationship, trusting the client, and witnessing their transformation is a privilege I hold dear.

If you are pursuing support, take note that I am here to listen, guide, and walk alongside you on your personal journey.

In summary, I advocate that being a counsellor is not only a profession but also a calling, a chance to make a difference in people’s lives, one session at a time.
