About me

Who am I?

Hi, I'm Stephanie. I am a therapist for adults  (18+) in the Salisbury / Wiltshire and Hampshire areas offering face to face and walk and talk counselling, as well as online and telephone counselling. I also offer online and telephone therapy nationwide... and I even have international clients! I offer home visits to those who have mobility problems.

I work as a therapist with many issues, anxiety / depression / PTSD and many more (check my profile for the full list), and I am proficiently trained in abuse and trauma.

Additionally I am a fully qualified international outdoor leader and outside of my private practice I work alongside numerous organisations bringing mental health into the outdoors.

What to expect from therapy with me

The idea of starting therapy can be a daunting prospect and I'm here to tell you that feeling anxious about therapy is normal! Many clients come to me feeling anxious, excited, unsure... and these are all normal feelings.

The work will be led by you - you discuss what you need and feel safe to discuss and leave the rest for another time. You say how many sessions you need and when you need them and I am here to walk alongside you to facilitate the work.

Most importantly, my practice is a safe and confidential space. This is an anchor from where you can fully explore as much of you as you need.

What fits your needs?

I am an integrative therapist which means I use a range of therapies to best work with the issues you identify as problematic areas and therapeutic goals. My belief is that one size does not fit all.

Feelings... it's all about feelings! As well as the ability to hold and explore the feelings you experience, I offer other aspects within my counselling offer...

My offer includes body work which brings the body into mental health as an all encompassing consideration of the effects of stresses and depressions on both the body and mind - the brain is part of the body after all!

I also work with CBT-based approaches to tackle unhelpful thinking and transactional analysis to provide a modality to consider relational issues which may be affecting your relationships.

Psychoeducation is a powerful tool and this is part of my offer to each client to help share information and tools which can help support you outside of the therapy room and after therapy has ended.

Consultation

Upon getting in touch, I will offer you a FREE 15-minute online or telephone consultation so we can discuss your needs. This time is provided to give you the space to ask any questions you have about the therapeutic process, and to help you consider whether our relationship is the right fit for you.

This is not a therapy session but a chance for you to explore the idea of starting counselling with me.

Fees

I am extensively trained and continuously developing in the psychology arena and my fees align with my skillset.

Fees are £60 per session. and flexible rates are offered to low-income households, students, counselling students, retired and refugees

Together we will identify problematic areas and aim to find solutions to help you move positively forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
