About me

Welcome to my counselling profile. I'm Stacy, a dedicated and empathetic person-centred counsellor here to support you on your journey towards healing and growth. With a warm and non-judgmental approach, I create a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

As a person-centred counsellor, my focus is on you as an individual, valuing your unique experiences and perspectives. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide genuine acceptance, empathy and understanding as you navigate through your challenges. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions or simply feeling stuck in life, person-centred counselling can empower you to gain insight, self-awareness and the confidence to make positive changes.

In addition to my person-centred approach, I specialise in providing bereavement counselling. Losing a loved one can be one of the most difficult experiences we face, and the grieving process can be overwhelming and complex. As a specialised bereavement counsellor, I offer compassionate support to help you navigate through the various stages of grief, honour your loved one's memory and find healing in your loss. Whether you've recently experienced a loss or are still struggling with unresolved grief from the past, I am here to accompany you on your journey.

My counselling sessions are tailored to meet your individual needs and goals, providing a supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and validated. Together, we will work collaboratively to explore your emotions, identify coping strategies and develop practical skills to help you manage life's challenges more effectively.

If you're ready to take the first step towards a brighter tomorrow, I invite you to reach out and schedule a complimentary online consultation with me. Remember, you don't have to face your struggles alone. With compassionate support and guidance, you can embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.

I look forward to walking alongside you on your path towards healing and transformation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor (CPCAB L4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling).  Working within a person-centred approach, the client takes the session to where-ever their need is, along life's many ups and downs, twists and turns, feelings, thoughts and emotions.  We explore the past,  consider the present and think about how life can be improved going forward.  My role is not to provide solutions or advice but to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences freely. Through active listening and reflection, I help clients gain insight into their own emotions and develop the confidence and skills to navigate life's challenges. Person-centred counselling is particularly well-suited for addressing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions and low self-esteem.

Aside from my person-centred approach, I also specialise in bereavement counselling and have extensive training and experience in working with the bereaved.  Bereavement counselling is recommended at least three months after a loss. Through psycho-education on grief processes and theories, I can help you understand and "normalise" the emotions you may be experiencing such as sadness, guilt, hopelessness, anger, relief or that your grief is not valid, all while honouring the memory of your loved one.

If a loss has occurred within the last three months, I offer early bereavement support.  Here we can explore practical solutions to challenges, such as housing, supporting children in their grief and related family conflicts, as well as reassurance and normalisation of your feelings during this difficult time.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
