About me

The task in life is not to be perfect but to be complete”, Carl Jung

It takes courage to book a first session, but, with the right therapist, this will serve you. With this in mind, I invite you to read about my approach and hope to welcome you.

I have an integrative and collaborative approach to counselling and psychotherapy. In a confidential space, I listen intently to my clients and intend to nurture a trusting and compassionate therapeutic relationship within which they can explore their experiences, find answers, heal or flourish. In my practice, I blend the IFS (Internal Family Systems) model of therapy with person-centred and existential therapeutic approaches, attachment theories or neurosciences depending upon my clients’ preferences and psychological needs. As such, I see my clients as “experts” of their realities and rational beings with worth, free will and inner capacities for growth.

IFS is a holistic and trauma-informed approach to healing and integrates well with both embodied processes and spiritual beliefs. The mind-body connection informs my practice, and when suitable, I may offer somatic interventions (e.g. movements, intuitive drawing, breathings or meditations). I also trained in Kundalini yoga, which focus is to break through blocks in the energetic pathways of our bodies that result from our postural and emotional habits and history. A regular practice leads to increased physical vitality, emotional stability and a felt sense of connectedness.

Having lived in different socio-cultural contexts for the past 20 years, I give careful attention to diversity and work with adults from all ethnic, racial, cultural and spiritual heritages

I welcome any issue my clients may present with, and have developed a particular interests for: depression; anxiety; addictions & eating disorders; self, identity & low self-esteem; trauma, e.g. abuse; loss, grief and bereavement & the life transition that sometimes follows such event; integration of psychedelic experiences. IFS works extremely well with all types of human suffering (you can watch a quick 8 minutes video here: https://ifs-institute.com/).

I offer sessions online and in person in South West London (SW16), in English or French, in an open-ended capacity or for an agreed time period.

If you have questions or want to get a sense of working together, I invite you to contact me to arrange a free 15-minute informal call.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a postgraduate diploma (PGDip) in integrative counselling and psychotherapy (University of East London) and qualifications in Internal Family Systems therapy (Levels 1 & 2, UK IFS institute) and Kundalini Yoga (Amrit Nam Sarovar school, France). Part of a Master of Arts (MA) in applied psychology research (University of East London) I used an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach to analyse clients’ testimonies and understand, in greater depth, the extent to which the Internal Family Systems (IFS) psychotherapeutic model can support clients in the “integration” of their psychedelic experiences.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk) and I abide by their professional code of ethics. In line with this, I engage in regular supervision and carry out continuous professional development. Most recent CPD trainings I attended covered the use of intuitive drawing in IFS therapy and working with race-based trauma and stress.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
