About me

I am a compassionate, authentic clinical psychologist with a wealth of knowledge about all things mental health. I strive to create a safe space to nurture understanding, generate acceptance, and empower change through evidence based psychological services.

I only offer therapy that has a strong evidence base and that which is recommended by NICE Guidelines. This means you have access to the best psychological interventions. I am qualified to assess and diagnose Autism and ADHD as part of a multidisciplinary team, and I can adapt psychological therapy for neurodiversity.

I understand the reasons why people choose to begin therapy differ, meaning one therapeutic shoe will not fit all. Knowing this, I am proud to offer integrative therapy, drawing from a range of different psychological models and approaches. This means I can tailor every session to your individual needs and goals for therapy.

I also understand that therapy needs to fit around your life, so I offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments. As an added bonus, therapy appointments can be held online, meaning you can have your session in the comfort of your own home. This means I can provide nationwide psychological therapy and reach people living outside of the United Kingdom.

Training, qualifications & experience

With more than 10 years experience across NHS, private and forensic services, I have the skills to identify, assess and treat a wide range of mental health difficulties. I work with individuals, couples, families and organisations and offers adapted therapy to suit neurodiversity.

I am is trained in several therapeutic approaches and draws from CBT, ACT, Compassion Focused Therapy and mindfulness. I will soon offer EMDR.

I am also trained in autism diagnostic assessment as part of an multi-disciplinary team (MDT) for children and adults using the ADOS-2, ADI-r, or the ACIA and as part of an MDT, I can offer assessments for ADHD in adults.

Prior to getting my clinical doctorate, I completed a PhD, MSc in Forensic Psychology, and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I am a published researcher and has presented my findings at international conferences.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I currently work within an acute physical health hospital so also have a good understanding of how poor physical health impacts our mental health and overall wellbeing. I have experience of working with a wide range of physical health difficulties and long-term conditions and can help you to live well alongside these.

Additional information

As each person requires an individualised assessment, formulation and treatment plan, the costs associated with psychological services differ between people. However, we strive to be transparent about our fees from the start to make it easier to decide whether we are a good fit for you.

We will always do our best to provide an informed estimation of how many sessions you are likely to need to help you to plan your finances. Again the length of therapy depends on many factors and we will discuss this with you during your assessment session.

Our fees also depend on the clinician, the type of therapy or assessment being provided, and the number of people being supported. The fees will be discussed during your initial assessment appointment and will not change throughout the course of therapy, unless any additional assessments or therapeutic services are agreed and provided.

We are pleased to be able to offer therapy through the majority of leading insurance providers. It is important to always check with your provider to ensure the treatment you need is covered. We accept funding from WPA, AXA, Aviva, Vitality and Cigna.
