About me

Are you finding the uncertainty of life overwhelming and the constant pressures on impacting your emotional, psychological and physical wellbeing? I provide a space and my expertise to help explore with you what you want to work on in your life, big or small, such as your relationships, your work/life balance, your goals, all are valued, whatever you challenges you are facing I want to help you overcome these.

I appreciate coming to therapy can be daunting but I hope to relieve that fear and empower and support you to find your truth, heal the pain and live your best life through the use of evidence based therapies.

Would you like space to explore your difficulties in a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental relationship? Where you can learn to develop your own insight into your behaviours and ways to cope? I offer help to anyone suffering any mental health difficulties working with individuals. Please note that I also offer couples counselling.

I appreciate the 1st step can be tough. It's important to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with. To help I offer an initial free 30 minute consultation session to all new clients to see if we would be a good fit to work together. Please email or call me to discuss.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from University of the West of England, a PG Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behaviour Interventions and a Psychology Degree. Currently I work as a Counsellor for local charities and run a private clinic. I also undertake regular trainings such as the Gottman Institute Level 1 and 2 for couples work.

My work experience includes working in the NHS  providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to clients, working in the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Adult Services (IAPT) and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). I also work for EAPS, charities and various insurers accepting instructions under the Rehabilitation Code.

Prior to training as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I spent 13 years working as a litigation solicitor and have experience of working with and supporting a wide range of issues for individuals at times of immense distress and trauma.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
