About me

When working with me, you can expect a warm, empathetic environment to explore any issues you’re facing and a space to process your feelings. I believe each person is the expert about themselves and my role as a therapist is to be a companion on your journey of self-understanding. Everyone has a different goal from therapy, but my hope is that you can leave our sessions feeling listened to and understood.

I have experience of working with neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism. I am committed to the neurodiversity affirmative movement and believe in the social model of disability: that people are disabled by barriers in society, not by their impairment or difference. I believe therapy is not here to change you or make you conform. Instead, it's about figuring out how you want to live and how to be confident living by your own rules.

I also have experience working with young adults, particularly university students.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work with clients experiencing a range of issues and clients from different backgrounds and life experiences. I often work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress and low self-esteem, and individuals experiencing problems in their work, family or romantic relationships.

I don’t believe therapy should be depoliticised: social, cultural and political realities affect our mental health. I am committed to social justice and liberatory practices.

I am trauma-informed and an LGBTIQ+ affirmative counsellor.

I have a COSCA Diploma in Counselling using Transactional Analysis and am a member of UKATA and EATA, adhering to their code of ethics.

I am a registered member of the BACP, membership number 01016495.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
