About me
I am an experienced registered psychotherapeutic counsellor, working with adults, particularly those who have been affected by abuse, but not exclusively. My focus is on building a safe relationship and helping with anxiety and depression. I believe in the power of counselling to transform lives and make a difference. I have seen the impact of my work with clients and the difference that my interventions have made. After 20+ years of working in this field, I pride myself on my ability to be with you on your journey to find what you want from your future.
I work holistically with depression, anxiety and abuse issues. I offer clinical supervision to trainees and professionals. I have gained invaluable experience working in a trauma service within NHS Scotland for 17 years as a specialist trauma counsellor and supervisor. I pride myself on being able to make my clients feel at ease to communicate their needs.
I work in an empowering way interacting with clients to move past depression and anxiety. I won't bombard you with counselling jargon, I am non-judgmental and accepting of whoever you are and where you are going. I use mindfulness and relaxation techniques within my practice. Please get in touch if you need me to listen to whatever may be going on for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
In certain circumstances, I can offer interim therapy/ guidance that would be specific and focussed on ways of coping. Do you experience a fear of moving forward with your life and trust issues? I can offer a limited number of sessions to focus on looking at issues such as:
Panic attacks, how to relax, how to take care of yourself, and to help with sleep difficulties and anxiety.
Please get in touch if you feel this mode of therapy would be appropriate for you.
