Sheila Patrick MBACP Registered Counselling Therapist and Supervisor.
I am an experienced registered psychotherapeutic trauma counsellor, working with adults, particularly those who have been affected by sexual violence and abuse. My focus is on building a safe relationship to enable my clients to move to a place where they feel that they can continue with their lives. I believe in the power of counselling to transform lives and make a difference. I have seen the impact of my work with clients and the difference that my interventions have made. After 20+ years of working in this field, I pride myself on my ability to be with you on your journey to find what you want from your future.
I work with rape, childhood sexual abuse, coercive control, domestic abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD and I offer clinical supervision to trainees and professionals. I have gained invaluable experience working in a trauma service within NHS Scotland for 17 years as a specialist trauma counsellor and supervisor. I pride myself in being able to make my clients feel at ease to communicate their needs.
I work in a holistic way, empowering and interacting with clients to move past depression and anxiety. I won't bombard you with counselling jargon, I am non-judgmental and accepting of whoever you are and where you are going. I use mindfulness within my practice. Please get in touch if you need me to listen to whatever may be going on for you.
