About me

Hi, I’m Sharon, and I’m an integrative counsellor specialising in Childhood Emotional Neglect, Developmental Trauma, and Narcissistic Abuse.

I provide a warm and relational space for adults who are struggling with the long-lasting effects of early life experiences. My practice brings together humanistic and psychodynamic approaches, while also integrating somatic trauma work and Parts Work, depending on what best supports your healing.

Many of the people I work with come to therapy carrying invisible burdens from their past - often with no knowledge of where their pain originates. You may struggle with low self-worth, chronic anxiety, difficulties in relationships, or emotional numbness and feeling disconnected from yourself.

These early wounds shape how we see ourselves and how we relate to others. Often we feel that there is something “wrong” with us or that “we’re not good enough”. Therapy offers a place to untangle our old narrative and make connections with the old parts of you that have been suppressed in the process of surviving.

I work collaboratively with you to explore patterns, not just through talking, but by bringing the awareness to the body, breath, and your inner experiences. My somatic approach helps you safely reconnect with your physical and emotional self, noticing how your body might be holding unspoken memories or protective responses.

I also integrate Parts Work to gently explore the inner landscape of your mind - helping you get to know and support the protective or wounded parts of you that might be influencing your present experience.

You don’t have to figure it out alone, I offer a grounded and compassionate presence whilst we work together towards greater clarity, inner peace, and emotional resilience.

Feel free to contact me by email if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.

You can book a free 20 minute call back here or call me on 07872 963334 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

My aim is for you to feel comfortable and safe within a good therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding. This will enable you to feel more comfortable expressing your most difficult thoughts and feelings. I understand how overwhelming it is when taking your first step in looking for a counsellor, and it is important that you find one that is right for you. I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone or online consultation to discuss what brings you to counselling and what you would like to achieve from counselling. It also gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions and decide if you would like to work with me.
