About me
Do you feel like your feelings go unnoticed or dismissed by others and end up feeling hurt because you have thoughts that your feelings don’t matter, or do you find it difficult speaking up for yourself and setting boundaries because of a fear of being rejected or not knowing how to respond to conflict, leading to people pleasing behaviours?
Do you struggle with chronic stress, anxiety, or depression, or have experienced a form of abuse (emotional, coercive control, sexual violence), you are not alone, I can support you on your road to recovery and healing.
As a trauma-informed practitioner with lived experience and with specialist training in this area, I am keen to support individuals on their recovery and healing, leading to a healthier sense of self and healthy relationships where you feel valued and respected. This can also lead to a new way of being in the world, such as more confidence, assertiveness and the ability to communicate effectively in asking for your needs to be met, which is your right.
I use a collaborative approach working with you to find the right approaches that suit your needs and goals.
I provide psychoeducation to help you understand what you are experiencing and to assist you in understanding that it’s not your fault or that there is nothing wrong with you.
I teach grounding strategies, if needed, to take forward into your everyday life as an effective coping strategy in times where you feel anxious or overwhelmed by life’s challenges.
I work integrating Humanistic approaches and drawing aspects from the Psychodynamic model of therapy exploring how past experiences influence present thoughts and behaviours. As I believe that there is a mind and body connection I also incorporate somatic work to explore bodily sensations when it is difficult to vocally express your feelings.
I have a keen interest in how people hold onto and express trauma and loss, and how this can manifest in relationships. Much of my work looks at attachment wounds, relational trauma, complex and delayed loss and grief and how it manifests in anxiety, depression and low self worth and chronic illness.
I offer in person and online counselling, psychotherapy and parts work.
Feel free to contact me by email if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can book a free 20 minute call back here or call me on 07872 963334 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My aim is for you to feel comfortable and safe within a good therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding. This will enable you to feel more comfortable expressing your most difficult thoughts and feelings. I understand how overwhelming it is when taking your first step in looking for a counsellor, and it is important that you find one that is right for you. I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone or online consultation to discuss what brings you to counselling and what you would like to achieve from counselling. It also gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions and decide if you would like to work with me.
