About me

As an Integrative counsellor, I draw on a blend of therapeutic modalities to best meet your needs. I like to work transpersonally and holistically with the mind-body connection.

With a background in massage and as a trained doula and childbirth educator, I have always been passionate about women’s wellbeing and have experience supporting clients throughout the significant transitions of adolescence, the perinatal period, stages of matrescence, perimenopause and menopause.

As well as women’s mental health, areas of experience and focus are trauma, depression, anxiety, couples counselling, grief, loss, sexual abuse and the emotional impacts of climate crisis.

I also work to support students through several universities and have an understanding of the dilemmas faced in “quarter life” - the phase between leaving structured education and following one’s path beyond that.

I offer both short term and long term work and within this strive to understand how each person can live their truest life within a complex world; come to a place of living in the right relationship with oneself, and define a vibrant, meaningful life.

I hold professional membership with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and am fully insured through the Psychologists Protection Society.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and have experience in working with grief, anxiety, disordered eating, trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, couples’ therapy, attachment issues, conception, pregnancy and parenting, burn out.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
