About me

Hello, I am a registered counsellor with the BACP and currently nearing the end of my training to become a Counselling Psychologist with a specialism in pregnancy loss related issues.

I understand it can be nerve-wracking starting therapy, either for the first time or with a new therapist. I will be here to support you throughout the process. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

I work using a client-led method, drawing on various approaches to create an integrative practice and providing a tailored service to match your needs. These approaches include person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic, systemic and third-wave CBT. My ethos is that effective therapy stems from a good therapeutic relationship.

I am currently only running remote sessions, whether this be online or over the phone. I am happy to work with clients on a short-term or long-term basis, adjusting to suit your needs.

I offer an initial introductory 15 minute phone call. If you decide to go ahead, we will spend the first session assessing your needs in more detail and going through a counselling contract. Regular sessions will ideally take place on the same time and day each week and last for 50 minutes.

I offer an inclusive practice that welcomes all.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been providing counselling services for a number of years now in many different settings giving me a wide range of experience. I am also in my final year of training to become a Counselling Psychologist. My primary area of focus is working with those affected by pregnancy loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion and unsuccessful IVF attempts. This is the area of my doctoral thesis, and an area which I am very passionate about.

I have a bachelors degree in psychology and education, a master's degree in psychology in education and a professional certificate in counselling studies. I've worked in charity settings and within the NHS.  Areas that I have expertise in include feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, self-esteem and more.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
