Sarah Eva - CBT therapist and counsellor
4 Eastlands Close
Hello and welcome to my profile. You are probably visiting my page because you or somebody you love or care for is experiencing emotional distress. I believe that not all suffering is part of the human condition; in fact, some of it is very unnecessary. We often tell ourselves shameful, blaming and self-critical stories that compound our suffering. Counselling is a safe context where we can check if the stories and the subsequent self appraisals that we have developed about ourselves, others and the world are healthy, helpful or true.
Therefore, I offer a safe counselling relationship that demystifies my clients' emotional and psychological distress. I encourage a therapeutic engagement that enables clients to identify their difficulties and the inaccuracies in their negative appraisals. These unhealthy appraisals are generally the obstacles that prevent them from reaching goals. Clients and I work in mutual collaboration to develop sustainable and tangible responses to alleviate unnecessary distress. This approach is effective in supporting clients in achieving their potential.
I offer short and long term arrangements from 6-36 sessions. I have a limited number of sessions available at 8am and some late evening appointments available too.
I use an integrative model of counselling working according to my clients needs and draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory.
I am an approved Wellbeing and Associate counsellor and therapist for various healthcare providers including BUPA, CIGMA and VALLIDIUM. Please enquire about this on initial contact if you require further information.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a UKRCP Registered Independent Practitioner. My counselling work is clinically supervised to the required standards and I hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
I provide counselling to individuals, I have worked extensively with adolescents. I am experienced in working with adult survivors of sexual abuse and trauma. I am experienced in working with relationship difficulties such as divorce, separation, affairs, bereavement and family issues .
