About me

Are you considering online therapy but wondering how it will be?  When I first made the transition, I also had those thoughts, I didn’t know how it would feel as a practitioner or if it would still feel engaging for you, the client. I began with a course in online working and then really got to know the platforms that I use. I developed my understanding of how we can still work creatively together, if that is what fits the moment, and really connected with it as a meaningful therapeutic space.

I was trained in an integrative therapeutic approach and am most influenced by person centred ways of working. There are many ways of being and infinite types of normal. Difference is important and should be celebrated but we want to feel genuine and connected to ourselves within that. You deserve for your normal to be healthy and nourishing and true to who you are. I can help you achieve that. I don't have a magic wand and can certainly be hard work but you won’t be there alone. I have a non-judgemental empathic approach, I will bring challenge, reflect patterns and draw attention to avoidance but it will be collaborative. You are the expert in your life, I am here to facilitate a space to help you connect with that.

I have a lot of experience in working with trauma and the interventions in place to support healing. Anxiety, depression, PTSD and dissociation are presenting issues that I work with on a daily basis. Grounding work is the foundation to any exploration, from this I use the skills and tools I am trained in to work towards managing these feelings. This includes inner child work, the Flash technique and Narrative exposure therapy. Working with attachment and relationship issues is something I am also very familiar with.

It is important that we work safely, I will manage the pace but you are in control of what you share, there won’t be pressure to give any details that you don’t want to and if you are someone who feels completely overwhelmed at the thought of sharing your feelings while being seen, we also have the option to turn cameras off.

I offer a free 20 minute introductory session which gives you the opportunity to meet me and see how you feel about going forward with sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
