About me

I know how difficult it can feel to reach out for help with your worries, troubles and mental health and by looking here you are making a great first step towards achieving that, wherever it may lead you I hope you find the help you are looking for.

I can offer short or long term walk and talk, face to face, online video and phone call talking therapy to adults and I am experienced in helping people with a various areas of mental health such as low self esteem, symptoms of peri-menopause and menopause, family issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement and relationship difficulties and can draw on a variety of ways to help understand what is troubling you. I have also worked with a variety of clients with mental health diagnosis' such as general anxiety disorder and neuro diversity and from different lifestyles, backgrounds and cultures.

I am a counsellor who believes in each persons life experiences being completely unique and I listen to your perspective on your life empathetically and without judgement. I believe it is important to build a trusting relationship with someone I am working with so that they feel comfortable to explore honestly how they are feeling and then naturally the therapeutic healing will begin.

I support this by thinking about someone holistically – by considering all aspects of mind, body and spirit/soul to help bring the whole picture into someone’s awareness.

As a counsellor I don’t solve problems, our relationship isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, it's about understanding you as a whole person and empowering you to make the changes you want to.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I continually partake in other courses and workshops to further my knowledge and will continue to do so as research in the field progresses.

Supporting this qualification was completion of Level 3 Counselling Studies and Level 2 Counselling Skills.

I am fully DBS checked to work with adults.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
