About me

Hi, I offer face-to-face sessions from my therapy cabin which is natural and quiet, I also work online it you prefer. I aim to work in an integrative and creative way, exploring what you would like out of therapy and support you in feeling more connected to yourself, your needs and how to ask for them. I also work with couples using the EFT model developed by Dr Sue Johnson.

I want to support you to be OK with yourself and in your relationships. Some of the following inquires we might have over the time we work together include: What are your needs and are you able to express them? What you would like to change in your life and how would life be different after counselling? How do you see yourself and the world and how do you feel you are seen? How would you like to grow in your relationship and how can you resolve stuck-ness as an individual or a couple?

I like to work creatively, using therapeutic tools and your own experience of your body to help you connect to different parts of yourself such as the sand tray, two chair work, and IFS; exploring what works for you. I use mindfulness and visualisations to support getting in touch with how you are feeling and where your feelings are located, we would do this in a gentle way, working at your pace.

Counselling for me is about empowerment which comes from self-compassion, acceptance and kindness. Often these can be hard to find in ourselves.  In our time together I would aim to support you to develop a positive sense of self regard and an ongoing connection to self kindness so you continue to develop to be the most authentic and enlivened version of who you are.

I also offer walks in nature, the graveyard close by works well for this. Mostly I work from my hexagonal cabin at the end of the garden which is warm and quiet with the occasional train sound going past to keep us in the moment!

With my couples, I work using the model of Emotionally Focused Therapy developed by Sue Johnson and also look at how the Drama Triangle might be at play in your relational pattern.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
