About me

Hey, I'm Roxanne. Looking through all these profiles can be a lot, right?

If you're here, you probably feel like something has to change. You might find yourself feeling stuck in your day-to-day life, struggling to say no, or simply wanting to feel better about yourself. You might even find yourself wearing a mask to hide how you feel inside, which can be incredibly lonely.

I know what a big decision it is to decide to talk to someone about these things, and I want to congratulate you for being courageous enough to take that first step.

How can I help? I work with a broad range of issues, but I'm particularly skilled at helping people set boundaries, express their needs, and break free from people-pleasing patterns. I've found that when people work on these areas, it helps to build self-worth, create healthier relationships, and give people greater control over their lives, which can be particularly beneficial if you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or overwhelm.

I'm also passionate about helping people avoid burnout, something that can be difficult when juggling work with other responsibilities. I try to practice what I preach by taking time for myself, like going social dancing or binge-watching K-dramas

I believe that each person has their own unique lived experience, and I strive to tailor my approach to your individual needs. I'm curious about how your experiences and identity shape how you interact with the world around you, and that's a key part of the work we do together.

In our sessions, we'll work together in a collaborative and supportive manner. I'm not here to boss you around – we're in this together. I'll use a person-centered approach, focusing on building a strong relationship based on trust and respect.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a  Postgrad Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London and combine this with over a decade of experience working in education and charities with young people, promoting wellbeing and good mental health.

I have experience offering both short term and open ended therapy both in person and online in a range of settings including university and a low cost therapy service.

I also ensure I keep my skills up to date by undertaking continual professional development.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
