About me

Hi, I'm Robyn.

My training and experience have shown me that, with the right support, we're all capable of turning our lemons into lemonade. Lemonade is my private practice based at Lotus Therapy Centre in Mansfield, offering one to one counselling to children, young people and adults. My role is to provide you with a non-judgemental, open, honest, empathetic and supportive space to fully explore your situation and to help you to understand your thoughts and feelings so that, together, we can work through any difficulties you are experiencing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm an integrative humanistic counsellor with training in various theories (person-centred, transactional analysis, gestalt, cognitive behavioural therapy) which allows me to have a holistic approach and tailor my support to your individual needs.

I have worked with children and young people for many years, previously undertaking work for CASY both in community venues and school settings, providing support with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, anger, depression, self harm, gender dysphoria, bullying, stress and low self esteem.

I also worked as a Bereavement Volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care for many years, supporting adults and young people in their grief.

Alongside my private work, I support young people in a Aspris SEMH school and residential care home, and provide an EAP service with PAM Assist.

I am an accredited member of the NCPS and a registered member of the BACP, working to their ethical frameworks. I undertake regular supervision, have a current enhanced DBS certificate and professional liability insurance.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

DBS check

In England and Wales, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly known as CRB) carry out criminal records checks for individuals working with vulnerable groups, such as children. To find out more, visit gov.uk , or contact this professional directly

The building I work from has a few steps up to the entrance so is not suitable for wheelchair users. My Thursday appointments take place in a ground floor room that may be suitable for those who have physical difficulties but can manage a few steps.
