About me
I offer a warm, welcoming, safe and confidential space for you to address any of the personal issues that you may be facing. It can be an opportunity to embark on a journey of growth & self-discovery. I want to help you take the steps that you need in order to feel happier, more at peace and personally fulfilled.
Having counselling can be about getting to know yourself better by gently peeling back some of the layers and bit by bit opening up to deeper levels of who you are.
I also offer Nature Based Therapy in outdoor settings. Taking the sessions out into nature is something that I feel very passionate about, as it opens up a whole other level of embodiment and the natural environment becomes an active element within the session.
It is a deepening of your connection to nature and an opportunity to explore this relationship. When we open to nature and let it be the guiding principle in the session it is powerfully restorative and healing to our life as a whole.
How therapy can help
Psychotherapy or Counselling is an effective and powerful way of helping you move forward in your life, resolving some of the areas that may feel ‘stuck’ or holding you back from being happy. You don’t have to be in crisis, just a desire for more freedom and expansion in your life and feeling ready and willing to make some changes.
Life’s problems can be seen as opportunities for growth to help bring us to a place of deeper understanding of ourselves and counselling is a way of finding your way back home to your true sense of who you are.
What to expect from your first session
The first session is free and is 30 minutes. It will be a time to get to know each other and for you to get a feel for me and my way of working. I will ask you a few questions, particularly about what you are most wanting from counselling. It will be a time in which you can open up as much or as little as you want. Afterwards you can reflect on how it went for you and you only need to get back in touch if you decide you would like to continue.
Some of the areas I can support you with are:
- Self-esteem/confidence
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Depression
- Bereavement
- Relationships
- Direction
- Meaning & purpose
About Me
I am a transpersonal psychotherapist and counsellor with a passion for peoples personal development, growth & well-being and have been running a private practise for over 20 years. The potential for people to move into a more connected and heartfelt way of being is what inspires me to do this work & I very much look forward to meeting you if you decide to pursue this path. I will be standing with you, helping you to find the best means to help yourself. There is a magic that can happen when both client and counsellor meet with a mutual intention to go deeper on the journey together of discovery and healing.
My Way of Working
My overall approach is Transpersonal and I work in a way which is pragmatic and integrative, utilising whatever is needed to best suits your needs. Transpersonal simply means that there is an awareness of a journey towards being a more whole & complete human being
The sessions tend to unfold in a natural and organic way without the need for rigid structure, often in ways that are revealing and surprising. Sometimes this will involve me simply listening and encouraging you to go deeper, to bring more of yourself out. At other times I may offer feedback, insights or offer a practical way of exploring things further, often encouraging you to connect with your bodies awareness of the deeper feelings that may be there.
I also have an interest in the Systemic perspective of Family Constellations based on my recent studies in this field, and this interest filters into my work with clients This way of working can be brought more directly into the sessions if you want to explore this.
Practicalities
Sessions can be on-line with Zoom or any other medium and I offer face to face sessions in Brighton, as well as outdoors in natural settings in which a nature-based therapeutic approach becomes possible. Telephone sessions are also an option. I am based in the 7 Dials area, about 7 minutes’ walk from Brighton station. There is onstreet parking. Nature-based therapy takes place in Stanmer Organics within Stanmer Park, a few miles North/East of Brighton.
You may wish to have an initial 30 minute session to get a feel for myself and my way of working. This initial session is free.

I am a registered member of BACP and adhere to the code of ethics of the governing bodies for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK and I have regular supervision to support me with my work.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
