About me

I know how hard it can be to consider the prospect of meeting a stranger and telling them things you have never told anyone before or perhaps have told people but have not been supported in a way you needed to be. This is why I work with empathy and withhold from making judgments to help compassionately validate your true experiences.

I will put you in the centre for our time together. You know what hurts and the things that you need to share in an empathic space so that you can process them.

Working with someone separate from your life can bring such freedom as I do not know the people you are sharing about. I just want to understand you, your life, your thoughts and behaviours and all that you are trying to understand. To help you accept yourself as you truly are and try to reach the person you want to be.

Sometimes it can feel like we are just going through life in survival mode, no longer enjoying things we used to love or not even feeling able to make time for ourselves because we feel exhausted. If any of this resonates with you then maybe it is time to try and find out who you are and what it is you want so you can work towards thriving instead of just surviving.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Outside of my private practice, I am working as a CYP counsellor and an adult volunteer for an eating disorder charity. I have also volunteered with Cruse as a bereavement volunteer and with the Samaritans as a listening volunteer.

Ideally, the sessions we would have together would be on the same day of the week at the same time.

Person-centred counselling.

Trauma-informed.

Eating disorders, bereavement, depression, suicide ideation, stress, work issues, home life, this space is for just you.

Whatever your reason for coming to counselling I will endeavour to provide you with a space to feel heard and understood.
