About me

About Me

I am Rebecca, a counsellor and clinical supervisor offering face‑to‑face counselling in Hutton, near Weston-Super-Mare, and online therapy across the UK. My practice, Somewhere to Talk, is a warm, grounded space where adults, couples, and young people can explore what they are going through with someone who listens deeply and without judgement.

Clients often come to me when they feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. I offer a steady, compassionate presence so you do not have to navigate things alone.

How I Work

My approach is relational, person‑centred, and collaborative. I do not diagnose or direct; instead, I walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences. Sessions are gentle, reflective, and shaped around what feels safe and helpful for you.

I work with:

Adults
Couples wanting to improve communication, rebuild trust, or navigate conflict.
Young people who need a calm, supportive space to talk
Therapists and trainees seeking clinical supervision.
Whether we meet in person or online, the focus is always on creating a relationship where you feel understood and able to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

What I Can Help With

People come to me for support with:

Anxiety, worry, and feeling constantly “on edge.”
Low mood, self‑criticism, or feeling lost.
Relationship difficulties and communication issues
Stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion.
Grief, loss, and life transitions
Identity, self‑esteem, and finding your voice.
The emotional impact of caring roles or helping professions.
You do not need to have the right words or a clear goal. We can figure things out together.

Face‑to‑Face Counselling in Hutton

I offer in‑person sessions in Hutton, near Weston-Super-Mare, in a calm, confidential setting. Many people choose face‑to‑face therapy when they want a grounded, embodied sense of connection. My location is easily accessible from Weston-Super-Mare and surrounding Somerset areas.

Online Counselling Across the UK and international.

Online therapy offers flexibility and comfort, whether you are local or elsewhere in the UK. Many clients appreciate the ease of settling into therapy from their own familiar space, and it can be especially helpful for busy schedules, mobility needs, or those who prefer the privacy of home.

Couples Counselling

Couples often come to me when communication has become difficult, when they feel disconnected, or when they are navigating a challenging period. Together we create a space where both partners can be heard, understood, and supported in finding new ways forward.

Counselling for Young People

Young people sometimes struggle to express what they are feeling or worry about being judged. I offer a gentle, steady presence where they can talk openly, explore emotions, and build confidence in themselves.

Clinical Supervision

I provide supervision for qualified therapists and trainees, offering a reflective, supportive relationship where you can explore your work, your wellbeing, and your professional development.

Further information

I offer flexible appointments which include early mornings and evenings.

I have always been passionate about helping people in a way that builds their confidence and self-esteem, supporting people to develop healthy coping strategies, resilience and independence.

Over the last 30 years, I have worked with different organisations and with hundreds of individuals. I have added Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to my skill set, a therapeutic technique which has a solid basis in science and incorporates the latest research.

It is generally recognised that the therapeutic relationship between client and practitioner is one of the strongest indicators of achieving positive change for the client. Both parties have equal input, I bring knowledge, expertise and experience as a therapist, you bring your knowledge, expertise and experience of being You. I look to create a caring and accepting environment where we can work together to achieve your aims of therapy.

I continue to professionally develop in several ways, by endless reading, attending courses and workshops, undertaking additional qualifications, regular supervision, peer support and open and honest self-reflection. These practice's help to ensure that I remain competent, compassionate and able to work to the highest possible standards.
