Rebecca Hutchings MBACP. Dip Couns. DSFH.
Counselling can help you to see things more clearly, make changes and move forward.
I offer a flexible support service to help you as an individual, with this in mind I am available for Counselling sessions during extended hours, early mornings, evenings and weekends. I also offer extended sessions if you feel that you need more than the traditional 50 minutes, this will be negotiated during the Initial Consultation.
Create your own positive change
It can feel daunting, reaching out to a professional for help, but the fact that you are here, reading this, shows that you are hopeful that positive change is possible. Life can feel demanding and we can sometimes feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or angry, overthinking/worrying can be a drain, leaving us feeling exhausted. This can be your opportunity to talk about what is troubling you, explore your thoughts and feelings and take action, gain better strategies to cope or deal with issues. Create your own positive change and feel happier.
My method is non-judgemental & non-directive. I don’t give you advice, instead I listen & provide a supportive environment where you can find your own answers. You are the expert on you, We work together to discover what thoughts/beliefs or behaviours may be holding you back and most importantly how to change them so that you feel happier and healthier.
As a therapist I believe individuals have a great capacity for self-healing & personal growth when provided with a nurturing environment in which they feel safe to explore, experience and expand their understanding. My role is to provide these conditions, warmth, respect, empathic understanding, compassion, authenticity and unconditional Positive regard.

I offer flexible appointments which include early mornings, evenings and some Saturdays.
I have always been passionate about helping people in a way that builds their confidence and self-esteem, supporting people to develop healthy coping strategies, resilience and independence.
Over the last 25 years, I have worked with different organisations and with hundreds of individuals. Within the last 5 years, I have added Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to my skill set, a therapeutic technique which has a solid basis in science and incorporates the latest research.
It is generally recognised that the therapeutic relationship between client and practitioner is one of the strongest indicators of achieving positive change for the client. Both parties have equal input, I bring knowledge, expertise and experience as a therapist, you bring your knowledge, expertise and experience of being You. I look to create a caring and accepting environment where we can work together to achieve your aims of therapy.
I continue to professionally develop in several ways, by endless reading, attending courses and workshops, undertaking additional qualifications, regular supervision, peer support and open and honest self-reflection. These practice's help to ensure that I remain competent, compassionate and able to work to the highest possible standards.
