About me

Raff Knight Ad Dip Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Dip Gestalt Therapy, PG Cert in Transpersonal Arts and Somatic Psychotherapy, Qualified Sound Therapist, Cert PTSD, Qualified End of Life Doula Practitioner.

I  am an experienced therapist and I have been working in a therapeutic setting for over 30 years as a psychotherapist/ counsellor and trainer, specialising in the field of mental health which includes, emotional and physical trauma/ depression, anxiety , bereavement, and sexual abuse, addictions, relationship issues, sexuality and intimacy issues. I also work with issues related to spirituality. I currently work in private practice with individual clients.

My specialisms include working intuitively with complex trauma and post-traumatic stress, using creative arts, sound therapy/  and body work. I have a particular interest in how trauma is held in the body, and have spent a large amount of time researching and working creatively to help individuals move through and transform their traumatic issues in a safe and holistic manner. I am  also a trained sound therapist.

I have spent many years refining my approaches to create an integrated and balanced whole person approach, working with the mind body and spirit in a grounded and holistic way. I offer a very broad spectrum of approaches, this enables me to offer a service which is unique to every individual.

I am committed as a practitioner to help provide a professional, safe, compassionate and supportive  and safe space for clients who are struggling with mental health issues and in crisis to be able to access the help they need as quickly and effectively as possible.

I am very passionate about equality and I believe that every individual has the right to as much help and support as their needs dictate, and that they are always treated in a dignified and respectful way. I believe that I offer a unique service based on  dignity and compassion.

As a trained end of life doula and spiritualist, I am often called to  work with the spiritual nature  of individuals, near death experiences , the spirit world, and the impact on the self

I am working more and more with the questions concerning  life and death and the impact his has. I am frequently presented with the questions

  • who am I really?
  • Why am I here?
  • What is the point of my life?
  • What is life really about?
  • What do I believe in?

This is a very sensitive and personal area to work in, and I take the utmost care to ensure that the space is conducive to the work, and that every person is given the time and space to explore in depth their soul connection, and ensuring that they are able to create their own personalised space, honouring their uniqueness and individuality.

"Transforming our suffering happens when we are able to let go of our minds, open our hearts and connect to our divine inner source, pure and untouched by the rigours  of everyday existence". (Raff Knight, 2022).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am interested in spirituality and often work with clients who feel lost, or have conflict about why they are here and question their life purpose. I think there is a mystic quality to therapy and I work with my intuition, and encourage those with whom I work to connect with theirs, the result of this is  often a very deep process and a transformational  journey .
