About me

Hello, my name is Rachel.

I can help you:

  • Feel less sad.
  • Ease tensions, stress and anxiety.
  • Share your burdens.
  • Understand why you feel the way you do.
  • Discover solutions that enable you to make positive changes.
  • Find ways to reset and self care.
  • Improve your confidence and self-esteem.
  • Feel accepted and listened to.

I am a trained Outdoor Therapist based in Saltash at Churchtown Farm Nature Reserve and on the Rame Peninsular at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park. Being in the open air can feel more freeing than sitting indoors. Moving the body enables us to release tensions, it can also stimulate new thoughts that encourage change.

I work with adults (male, female and non-binary) of all ages, struggling with mental health issues such as loss, anxiety, depression, family issues, low self-esteem, relationships, social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, low self-confidence, stress, burn out and trauma.

All of us at some point feel overwhelmed or that we cannot cope. These feelings can often impact upon other areas of our lives such as our relationships, our personal life, or how we function day to day.

I can help you explore, reflect and understand these feelings and difficulties. Then I can help you develop your own resources and solutions to cope with them.

You do not have to be fit, we can walk, stroll or find a quiet space to sit.

If you live further away, I also offer telephone counselling. When speaking on the phone it is important you are in a space that feels comfortable and private. Some clients find a quiet space outside to talk.

If you would like to find out more or book a free 30minute chat on the phone do get in touch via email or phone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
