About me

Hi, I'm Rachel. Thank you for reading my profile. I'm sorry things are hard for you right now. Counselling gives you a chance to speak and I am trained to listen.

I can help by:

Offering a comfortable, private space to speak freely, be yourself and to be understood.

I listen carefully, you will be heard:

There are some common issues that bring people to therapy, perhaps you relate?

Stress can manifest as anxiety, anger or low mood. Perhaps you feel as though you are in a cycle that you don't know how to stop? Life events can knock confidence and leave you feeling wobbly and vulnerable. These situations impact your everyday life, stealing happiness and filling nights with worry. In an ever-changing world, it is common to feel lost or like you are churning over the same problems, not seeing a way forward leading to low mood and depression.

Changes in life, such as retirement, menopause, becoming a parent/carer, or family disruptions can pull the rug from under your feet. This feeling can be like free falling. Taking the time to sit down and gently explore what this feels like can help to sort through how you think about the situation and what you need to do in order to feel more grounded.

Is bereavement leaving you with lingering sadness and a gap that is hard to negotiate?

Has your long-term relationship become toxic and you feel trapped, like you have lost a part of yourself? Abuse can come in many forms causing low self-esteem, a sense of powerlessness, stress and anxiety.

Maybe you are a student struggling with the transition into adulthood and processing thoughts and feelings as you leave home? Perhaps the pandemic has left you unsure of your place in the world, whilst others move on around you? (I offer a student discount)

I can look at issues with you and together we can find resolutions or acceptance in order to strive towards brighter and calmer days.... and hopefully better nights too.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Key details

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I have off street parking directly outside my therapeutic space. There is step free access into the premises. Also step free access to W/C (although facilities are not adapted)
