About me
I support clients to improve their sense of well being when they are feeling low and struggling. We all go through difficult patches in our lives and it can be helpful to have someone there along side us during these times.
Individual counselling
I offer a safe and confidential “Retreat that’s not about escaping life but about returning to ourselves.”
Gentle support that uses Person- centred therapy. I aim to help my clients become more self-aware and self- confident. I will help you to talk about your issues whilst I listen with kindness and respect. I will offer insights and interventions that can support you to move forward with more clarity. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, as no-one else knows exactly what it’s like to be you.
I support a range of issues-
Anxiety, low mood, depression, not feeling good enough, self-esteem, family issues, relationship issues such as conflict and communication, cultural issues, anger, grief, loss, despair, health issues.
The session will provide you with a non-judgemental space in which to think and talk openly. Together we can explore the challenges you face and their impact on your life, in order to find a way forward.
As a Person Centre therapist, I offer gentle, warm and compassionate support in order to empower you. Fresh perspectives can be revealed through this approach that lead to a sense of deep awareness and self compassion.
My client’s are offered interventions and psychological education where appropriate that supports their present and future selves.
Couples Counselling
A non judgmental, collaborative approach supports client’s to manage and understand both theirs and their partner’s perspective and learn how to meet their own needs and the needs of their partner. (LGBTQ+inclusive.)
It can be difficult to move on from difficult places so I aim to support clients to develop their understanding of their conflict and differences.
Good communication is key to relationships and therefore I share strategies that can support you to break unhelpful patterns of behaviour.
What to expect
We will work safely and collaboratively. I’ll provide you with the autonomy to decide what you wish to bring to the session and what kind of counselling works for you. We are all different and therefore I do not use a one size fits all approach to my clients. Some people like to just have a space to talk, some may want strategies to use and take home some things to try.
I work within a mindful and holistic space, blending together counselling theory, grounding techniques and interventions in a tailor- made way to suit your needs. I believe you are the expert/s of your life and I work hard to empower you at every step.
You do not have to struggle alone. Counselling and Psychotherapy can support you to see things from a different perspective and bring a sense of relief and clarity.
My Philosophy
I work from a collective of plural, person-centred, humanistic, existential and psychodynamic perspectives to inform and support my work. These platforms enable my clients to deepen their self - awareness, healing and growth.

Pooni is not only a compassionate lister but she has helped me to understand and accept myself, enhanced my ability to cope with challenges, and enabled me to communicate better with the people in my life.' Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
