About me

Hello my name is Peter and welcome to my profile page.

I offer a warm, respectful, safe and confidential environment where you can explore all the difficulties that your facing. Areas I work with include relationships issues, couple counselling, anxiety, depression, low self worth/esteem, emotional withdrawal/disengagement, trauma (ptsd, cptsd,) historical abuse, abuse, work issues,  amongst others. I am specifically a Person Centred Counsellor, that incorporates other counselling methods if I deem them helpful. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework for good practice.

I receive good feedback from my clients mainly due to working on developing strong understanding of what’s going on for you the client, which Person Centred Counselling fits. My ability to be really listening and noticing things about you and your needs, means that I can provide both the emotional and psychological support and the direction to help you achieve your aims/goals and while supporting you bring about greater understanding on what's going on for you. My sessions are totally confidential and my approach is non-judgemental, although challenging. The only things I expect from you are honesty and the desire to work hard, sometimes outside your comfort zone which is where a lot of development really takes place. My approach is to achieve what you want.

I feel talking about your experiences can help you release painful feelings and help you find better ways of managing situations you find difficult.  By understanding events that shape your life you can overcome specific problems, or by just having a professional neutral listening ear. Therefore if you are finding it difficult with coping with issues or struggling with your feelings, behaviour or your thinking is just going around in circles. I am here to support you through counselling.

I offer Counselling for Individuals or Couples, or trainee counsellors.

I welcome you to get in touch today. You can either text or call me on 07582 423315 or click here to send me an email.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Over the course of 5 weeks Peter has helped me to open up more by assessing my relationships and certain situations, which has helped me to move positively.  My relationship with my wife is the best it's ever been and I am more confident in how I deal with situations when they arise. I feel more confident now and would wholly recommend Peter."  Mr.R.Luton

"I would like to say how pleased and grateful I have been to Peter, and felt how much better I'm coping with life since his visits.  He has been such a wonderful, kind and understanding person to me and I feel my day to day life has really improved thanks to him.  I will never forget the loss of my husband we were together nearly 56 years, but I feel I am now able to move on with my life thanks to Peter." Mrs.J.Luton.

"I came to see Peter as a part of a requirement for my counselling course for Person-Centred Counselling. I found him to be very down to earth and felt very comfortable with him very quickly. He helped me to explore many issues that I was struggling with and was supportive and challenging at times which was good for me. Peter made me feel at ease as he is an open, genuine and warm person. I came away with a lot of food for thought and my attitude and feelings around certain areas of my life became more manageable and open to different thoughts and attitudes which were more positive and he helped me to grow as a person."
