Hello my name is Peter and welcome to my profile page.
I offer a warm, respectful, safe, confidential environment where you can explore all the difficulties that your experiencing. Areas I work with include Relationships, trauma (ptsd or cptsd), anxiety, depression, low self esteem/self worth, bereavement, amongst others. I am specifically a Person Centred Counsellor, (the emphasis being non-judgemental, non-directive, empathic and accepting, although challenging). I am a member of the British association of counselling and psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework for good practice.

I receive good feedback from my clients mainly due to working on developing strong understanding of what’s going on for the you the client, which Person Centred Counselling fits. My ability to really listening and noticing things about you and your needs, means that I can provide both the emotional and psychological support and the direction to help you achieve your aims/goals and better understanding of what's going on for you, by bringing more clarity to what's happening. My sessions are totally confidential and my approach is entirely non-judgemental. The only things I expect from you are honesty and the desire to work hard, sometimes outside your comfort zone which is where a lot of your development really takes place. My approach is to achieve what you want.

At the Trust I mainly worked with clients with issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-worth, trauma (ptsd, cptsd), relationships.
For many years I have worked in the voluntary sector where I have done lots of counselling work for numerous agencies successfully bringing together my training, experience and qualifications to assist those helping them to manage their emotional distress/issues and living a healthier life.
I offer face to face, online or telephone counselling.
I have a current enhanced DBS certificate and I am fully insured.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
