Peter Brown Counselling Dip Registered member MBACP
Hello and welcome to my profile page on the Counselling Directory.
My name is Peter and I work in the Luton region. I am a qualified and fully insured counsellor. I am essentially a Person Centred Counsellor, the emphasis being non-judgemental and non-directive, as well as being empathic and accepting. I also use psychodynamic, cbt, gestalt and transactional analysis if I deem necessary.
I maintain a policy of strict confidentiality and follow the ethical framework of good practice of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), of which I am a member.
Why choose counselling?
I feel talking about your experiences can help you release painful feelings and help you find better ways of managing situations you find difficult. By understanding events that shape your life you can overcome specific problems. Therefore if you are finding it difficult coping with issues or struggling with your feelings, behaviour or your thinking is just going around in circles. Counselling might be for you.
Why choose me?
I receive good feedback from my clients mainly due to working on developing strong understanding of what’s going on for the you the client, with a base of understanding human nature, emotional intelligence, self-awareness and a desire to constantly learn more to help my clients. Which Person Centred Counselling fits.
My ability to "be really with you" during the counselling, and really listening and noticing things about you and your needs, means that I can provide both the emotional and psychological support and the direction to help you achieve your aims/goals and better understanding of what's going on for you, by bringing more clarity to what's happening. My sessions are totally confidential and my approach is entirely non-judgemental.
The only things I expect from you are honesty and the desire to work hard, sometimes outside your comfort zone which is where a lot of your development really takes place. My approach is to achieve what you want.
I welcome you to get in touch today. You can either text or call me on 07582 423315 or click here to send me an email.

"I came to see Peter as a part of a requirement for my counselling course for Person-Centred Counselling. I found him to be very down to earth and felt very comfortable with him very quickly. He helped me to explore many issues that I was struggling with and was supportive and challenging at times which was good for me. Peter made me feel at ease as he is an open, genuine and warm person. I came away with a lot of food for thought and my attitude and feelings around certain areas of my life became more manageable and open to different thoughts and attitudes which were more positive and he helped me to grow as a person."
