About me

Hello and welcome to my profile page on the Counselling Directory.

My name is Peter and I work in the Bedfordshire region. I am a qualified and fully insured counsellor. I am essentially a Person Centred Counsellor, but I also use psychodynamic, cbt, gestalt and transactional analysis if necessary, as well as being a life coach and Cruse bereavement supervisor.

I maintain a policy of strict confidentiality and follow the ethical framework of good practice of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), of which I am a member.

What issues can I help with?
I have a high success rate of dealing with problems resulting from:

  • low self-esteem/confidence
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • stress
  • anger
  • emotional abuse
  • bullying
  • relationship issues
  • transitionary periods
  • trauma
  • addiction
  • bereavement.

Therefore if you are finding it difficult coping or struggling with your feelings, behaviour or your thinking is just going around in circles, get in touch with me.

Why choose counselling?
I feel talking about your experiences can help you release painful feelings and help you find better ways of managing situations you find difficult.  By understanding events that shape your life you can overcome specific problems, eg lack of confidence.  It may simply allow you to live a happier life.
I believe that we all require some extra help at some time in our lives, and I believe a counsellor can be an amazing resource to tap into and enable you to focus on specific problems/Issues or help you better manage your life and the challenges that you face.

Why choose me?
I receive great feedback from my clients and I believe that's because I have a developed strong understanding of human nature and have developed emotional intelligence, self-awareness and have a desire to constantly learn more to help my clients.

Most importantly, I have an innate passion for helping people find solutions to their own problems so that they can empower themselves so that they are better able to deal with them.

My ability to "be really with you" during the counselling, and really listening and noticing things about you and your needs, means that I can provide both the emotional and psychological support and the direction to help you achieve your aims/goals and better understanding of what's going on for you, by bringing more clarity to what's happening.  Our sessions are totally confidential and my approach is entirely non-judgemental.

The only things I expect from you are honesty and the desire to work hard, sometimes outside your comfort zone which is where a lot of your development really takes place. I help clients holistically with their challenges and objectives. My approach is to achieve what you want.

What happens next?
My aims as a counsellor are to help you have the life you want by helping you define and manage issues/change. This can include such things as building your confidence, re-assessing your life, reducing stress or ways of feeling and thinking.

Whether you want to make small changes or initiate far-reaching changes, get in touch with me, for a no-obligation chat to see how I can help? Whatever it is, I am here to work with what you want. I am passionate about helping you achieve your goals/aims by empowering yourself, and dealing with your issue.

I welcome you to get in touch today. You can either text or call me on 07582 423315 or click here to send me an email.

He helped me to explore many issues that I was struggling with and was supportive and challenging at times which was good for me. Peter made me feel at ease as he is an open, genuine and warm person. I came away with a lot of food for thought and my attitude and feelings around certain areas of my life became more manageable and open to different thoughts and attitudes which were more positive and he helped me to grow as a person."
