About me

(Face to Face: Chester CH1 4AJ.  Zoom:  Nationwide. Evenings available)

There's nothing wrong with asking for help. Even if you were previously bullet proof or have been in therapy before.

More people than you think are suffering Anxiety, Depression, Problems at Home or Work etc than will admit to it....... so let's talk. In complete privacy, and where I'm here to help and never to judge.

I'm a therapist with an unusual background. A big heart but coming from a big business background - so I've lived. My clients have ranged from 18 to 90, either just started out or at board level. Everyone's welcome.

Where others have failed, my style of making coming to therapy something to look forward to rather than fear, has produced a commendable record.

I am qualified to offer pure CBT but generally operate in an Integrative way by choosing either or all of the 3 main models of therapy: gentle client led Person Centred, CBT to learn new alternative thinking styles, and Psychodynamic Therapy for problems sometimes emanating from childhood, or those we are not consciously aware of.

This means I tailor therapy to the client rather than fit the client to a restricted set of counselling skills. Sometimes, a real world Confidence inspiring Coaching Style is best.

I am warm yet straight talking, adaptable and innovative, and help people get to the root of their problems and resolve them successfully.

I have a wealth of experience helping clients in all manner of difficulties. For the past few years I have been contracted to counsel NHS professionals where Burnout, Stress, and Underlying factors are the norm: utilising short term, solution based approaches.

Background: Reinsurance, Recruitment, Banking, Director PLC, Construction.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
