About me
(Face to Face: Chester CH1 4AJ. Zoom: Nationwide. Evenings available)
Hello there and a warm welcome to my profile.
I work with clients in a collaborative way that encourages and empowers positive change using an inspirational and confidence inspiring style whilst providing a calm, safe and non judgemental space.
Coming into counselling might feel daunting but there's nothing wrong with asking for help - especially in a confidential setting. More people than you think are suffering Anxiety, Workplace Burnout, Depression, Relationship problems, etc etc than will admit to it. Whether you've been in therapy before or previously been 'bullet proof' but something's changed, that's Ok. So let's talk in complete privacy, as I'm here to help, to listen and hear you and never to judge.
As an Integrative Therapist, my style is flexible in order to work with my clients' needs as they arise. I therefore draw on some of the more widely accepted psychological methodologies such as Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT as well as creative techniques that recognise the uniqueness of each client.
Whilst I am qualified to offer pure CBT for those that already know this type of therapy works for them, I more commonly operate in an Integrative way by appropriately choosing either or all of the 3 main models of therapy: gentle client led Person Centred, CBT to learn new alternative thinking styles, and Psychodynamic Therapy for problems sometimes emanating from childhood, or those we are not consciously aware of.
This means I can tailor therapy to the client rather than fit the client to a restricted set of counselling skills which can be an issue when only trained in a single discipline. Sometimes, a real world Confidence inspiring Coaching Style is best, other times very gentle, other times pragmatic and solution focussed.
I'm a therapist with an unusual background. A big heart but from a business background - so I've lived. My clients have ranged from 18-90, junior to senior level. Everyone's welcome.
I am warm yet straight talking, adaptable and innovative, and help people get to the root of their problems quickly and resolve them successfully. My amiable and adaptable, innovative style, also aims to make coming to therapy something to enjoy rather than fear which produces results where others have failed.
I have a wealth of experience helping clients in all manner of difficulties. For the past few years I have been contracted to counsel NHS professionals where Burnout, Stress, and a multitude of other common presenting issues were commonplace, utilising either short term, solution based approaches or longer term therapy.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
