About me

People enter therapy for all kinds of reasons.  Perhaps you're feeling down or anxious, you might be unsure about the future of a relationship, maybe the pressures of work or family life are weighing on you or perhaps you feel that past experiences are preventing you living the life you want to lead. Whatever has brought you to consider therapy, I am here to offer support.

I work with individual clients aged 16+ on a 1:1 basis, offering online, telephone, in-person or walk-and-talk therapy.  When working face-to-face, I work from a private counselling space within Duloch Leisure Centre, Dunfermline.  I find that many clients appreciate both the accessibility and privacy this venue offers.

As a person-centred therapist I believe you are the expert in your own story and I am committed to offering a safe space where you can explore your understanding of yourself, your relationships and your experiences in a deep and meaningful way.

I believe in allowing the client to set the pace and direction of our work, meaning that from the outset you are in control of what you choose to talk about and how much you choose to share.   Although my work is grounded in a person-centred approach I am able to integrate tools from other modalities such as CBT or psychodynamic therapy to suit the needs and preferences of each client.

I enjoy working creatively and often integrate mindfulness, play, movement or creative arts into the therapy work.  I encourage all clients to be aware of their needs in the therapy space and to let me know if there are new ways of working that they would like to try.

I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Pregnancy and Parenting
  • Relationships
  • Infertility and Miscarriage
  • Elite Sport or Performance Backgrounds
  • Grief and loss
  • Depression or low mood
  • Adoption
  • Isolation and loneliness
  • Sexual Assault / Sexual Abuse
  • Trauma

I am a COSCA registered therapist and ascribe to COSCA's ethical framework.  In line with this commitment to ethical practice I undertake regular supervision with a highly experienced clinical supervisor.

In addition to my private practice I work as a children and young people's therapist within a local school.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my training in Person-Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy through the University of Highlands and Islands.  This diploma level training is formally regulated and accredited by COSCA.  I am committed to ongoing professional development and continue to undertake regular additional training to support me in providing clients with the best possible therapy experience.

I moved to working with clients online and by telephone during the COVID lockdown and hold a certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling. I am a Counsellor Member of Counselling & Psychotherapy Scotland (COSCA) and fully insured.
