About me

I have worked in a wide array of institutions within the mental health field and I have worked particularly with women from all backgrounds, struggling with relationship issues, work stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, lack of personal boundaries, looking to reconnect with themselves as well as other life related issues. I use a variety of modalities, such as Person Centred Approach which can help with looking at current life situations and how we can address them, Psychodynamic which works around past issues from childhood, past relationships and how it is impacting on your life, observe any patterns of behaviour and learn to break them. I also practice Inner Child Work as well as Positive Therapy which focuses on working on the inner strength and enhancing happiness through positive thoughts and emotions, as well as cognitive reformations. and  Forgiveness Therapy which can help heal some clients and let go of feelings of guilt.

"Forgiveness is not forgetting or condoning the harm that has been done, instead, it is letting go of the need for revenge and releasing negative thoughts of bitterness and resentment." ( Sanjay, Singh, & Hooda, 2019)

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with at-risk adults, in school settings and within the private settings. I am an Integrative Psychotherapist trained in Person-Centred and Psychodynamic Approach. I also specialise in Boarding School Survivors and interested in working with black, and other ethnic minority groups, exploring Attachment Styles, and internalised shame, survival mode, as well as traumatic dissociation.

I have also worked with charity organisations such as MIND which deals with a wide range of mental health issues, provide advocacy services, support groups, and Ashiana Network which is a specialist organisation supporting survivors of violence against women and girls, those who have been impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence and any form of harmful practices such as forced marriages, honour based violence and female genital mutilation. I currently work in my private practice, as well as on Better Help platform with international clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
