About me

Are you worried about your relationships with others - your partner, friends or your family? Do you struggle with low self-worth or confidence issues? Perhaps you have experienced trauma that has left you feeling detached and confused?

I'm Omesh, and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor providing a safe, professional and confidential service to help and support you. If you are looking for someone to talk to, to help you deal with things that are in your past; perhaps you are concerned about your behaviour, you have thoughts that you want to stop or you feel like you are putting on a front each day and pushing people away, then I can be that person to help you to explore your issues and support you in working through them.

Imagine a version of you that is no longer conflicted or lost. You have a healthy relationship with yourself and others and those destructive behaviours and addictions are now a thing of the past. Imagine being free from shame, guilt, anger and negative thoughts and instead feeling proud, energetic and hopeful.

I provide face to face counselling in the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire areas, and anywhere else within a 30 mile radius of Derby, as well as online and telephone counselling. Home visits can be arranged, as I offer you the option of having sessions in your own home, or another location that you are comfortable with if you would prefer this.

Having experienced trauma and been through counselling myself, I am now a passionate provider of good quality counselling and therapy. I have developed a series of ways of working in order to offer the most supportive environment possible in order for each client to be able to explore their issues and be supported in working through them.

Please call me today on 07522 976463 or click here to send me an email to schedule a FREE 30 minute, no obligation phone call. Following this session, if you are happy to proceed, we will discuss price based on circumstances.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

For me this job is all about the interaction with people, and the building of therapeutic relationships with them. Counselling is not just a start and an end, it is an often complex journey, in which lots of in depth subjects can be covered. I enjoy getting to know each individual and unique client and supporting them through that journey.

Testimonials

Kate - "I found Omesh when i was at the lowest point in my life. I found his details on Bark and called him on a Sunday afternoon. Having sobbed on the phone to him about my troubles, he came to see me that evening.

Omesh has weird way of making you feel instantly comfortable and free to express how you really feel. Not how you talk to friends/family, but with complete honesty about EVERYTHING!

I have struggled all my life with depression and anixety and as a result have developed an eating disorder which HAD taken over my life. Omesh has seen me at darkest times, times when i didn't see any reason in carrying on - didn't want to believe things could get better. He turned up every week and supported me through everything. He even answered the phone if i was having a bad day.(With no charge i might add)

I'm a few months into my councelling and i have to say, i've never felt better! I still have work to do and i know there will be dark days ahead, but it is managable. I am on a journey and couldn't think of anyone better to support me along the way.

Omesh has given me my life back. He has given me hope. He has taught me how to not only accept who i am, but to love who i am!

I find myself looking forward to our weekly sessions. I look forward to learning more about myself and pushing myself.

If it wasn't for Omesh, i wouldn't be here today.

Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for not judging me. Thank you for everything"

Margaret - "I would like to thank you for all your support, kindness, and understanding over the 3 months of counseling. You were always there for me through laughter and tears and for that I am truly grateful. You are a very kind and understanding person. Once again thank you so much."

-------------------------------

Sarah - "I cannot thank Omesh enough for my counselling sessions. I can honestly say that his approaches to helping me have completely changed my mindset and have changed me for the better. I have now accepted a new job (something that I applied for and got during my sessions) and know this is because of the strength that I found within myself through the sessions. Thank you for changing my life."

Jamie - "Omesh is one outstanding person, the service he gives is literally second to none.

I researched heavily for a loved one of mine, the needs were pretty complex and I spoke with numerous counsellors (5 to be precise) I found Omesh to be in a league of his own, his dedication, ambition, will to succeed, selflessness and professionalism coupled with knowledge is literally off the scale.

He is extremely approachable and very competitive. I cannot recommend Omesh enough, he hasn't asked me for a review, I've left this for the people out there that are in desperate need of help, people that feel in the dark, helpless, feel like they have nowhere to turn, feel alone. Let me assure you, you aren't, Omesh is one call away. Just like he was for the person I love and referred."

Ben - "Omesh from Kismet Counselling is a professional in every sense of the word. If you want a result, and a conclusion to your angst, whatever state your head and your heart are in, you'll find one with him.

His no nonsense attitude to counselling, and his incredible honesty, puts you in a position to be honest with yourself - the most crucial step to feeling better.

Working with Omesh has been a revelation, one that I hope lots of other people can experience for themselves.

Thanks for everything Omesh. It is truly appreciated."

James - "I found Omesh on facebook when I was in a really dark place. I was suffering regular panic attacks and had started to become addicted to drink after my last relationship ended. I spoke to Omesh over the phone and was scared to talk to begin with, but quickly found that he was somebody I wanted to open up to. I then had a number of sessions with Omesh and he helped me so much. I was able to understand my feelings in a way I hadn't before, and was able to learn more about myself.

When I first met Omesh, of Kismet Counselling Services, I was at the lowest point I have ever been in my life, I felt like I was drowning and could not see the way out. That has changed now, I know there is work to do still, but with the brilliant support I have, I feel that there is hope and light again.

Thank you Omesh, you are giving me my life back."

Belle - "Omesh has helped me turn my life around over the past 3 months. Towards the end of last year I had started to realise that there were a number of traumatic experiences from my past that had left a mark, and were things that I had not dealt with, but needed to.

I sought help, and that’s exactly what Omesh gave me. He has a wonderful knack of knowing when to push you even if it hurts, and when to stop. His counselling style is very tailored to you, and I really developed a strong relationship with him. Although it was great to know I no longer needed his services because of the great work we had done, I’m sad I won’t be having my weekly catch up with him.

Omesh taught me to love myself again, which I never thought would happen. And in doing so has allowed me to let others love me. I am the same person I was.. just a much happier, and consistently content version.

Thank you Omesh for the invaluable support you gave me. I really could not have done it without you."
