About me

I work privately as a counsellor with individuals, I have  working  with clients who are experiencing anxiety, panic,  addiction, bereavement & loss. Having someone to listen to your concerns outside your friends and family can be a huge support, offering an unbiased ear to hear your thoughts and feelings.

Life can can be a struggle at times and can lead to feelings of helplessness anxiety and depression. Many situations can be the catalyst for these feelings, a new relationship, relationship breakdown, bereavement & loss, a new baby, new job, friendships, or any situation which evokes new feelings, the impact can suddenly tip from being manageable to suddenly negatively affecting your daily life, affecting you and your family, work and the people around you, if you can identify to any of this, let me help.

I work with adults, children and adolescents.

I have completed additional training in other models of therapy including CBT, this means I can adapt the ways I work to suit you perhaps suggesting coping strategies depending on your needs. I have also enjoyed a successful career in the telecommunications industry and have a great understanding of work-related stress, redundancy and change, I have experience with a wide variety of people with a wide variety of difficulties.

I love my work being a witness to my clients change and grow is a real privilege I'm continually grateful to be placed in a position of such trust as they move towards a more fulfilling phase of their lives.

In addition to being in private practice I also work in the education sector as a School Counsellor for primary and secondary aged young people.

I am an experienced Bereavement Counsellor, I have helped many people struggling with grief and loss to find new paths to work through their emotions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist (BACP) and am committed to complying with their Ethical Framework for good practice.

I have completed a Certificate, Level5 Diploma Person Centred Therapeutic Counselling and COP with the BACP.

I have completed CBT diploma with the New Skills Academy.

Previous to this I have many years volunteering at various charities and enjoyed a successful corporate career within the telecommunications industry where I gained a wealth of transferrable skills, I enjoy training to continually develop and enhance my skills, I have regular supervision for my clinical work.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
