About me
Are you feeling anxious, stressed , depressed or experiencing other difficulties? Do get in touch. I am an experienced friendly professional offering bespoke face to face, online and telephone sessions, tailored to meet each individual I support. I offer all clients an initial 30 minute chat at no cost so you can find out if I'm the right therapist for you.
If you are here looking for some help and support, I understand you have made what can be that first tricky step in beginning to move forward.
I can promise you, a safe confidential space, working with someone you can trust, who will put your needs first and at the very centre of our work together.
I will work with you in a bespoke way, tailored to the person you are. Working with honesty and integrity I will build a relationship with you in which you can be honest and open, without fear of judgement.
We will have a dialogue to support you in understanding your own thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours and there will at times be humour - being able to laugh can provide much needed relief when life is not easy.
The approaches I use are tailored to my individual clients, these can be centred on, for example, thinking processes, emotional responses, key life events and early childhood experiences / traumas.
If after looking at my information and website, you think I may be the right person for you, then please call and we can have an informal chat where you can ask any questions and I will explain, in person the ways in which I can work with you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and a Post Graduate diploma in relational, integrative counselling and psychotherapy. I have the knowledge and skills to work with people over both the short and longterm.
I have extensively supported individuals experiencing long-term physical and mental health difficulties, people who have suffered trauma and abuse (in both early and later life stages), and have worked with clients with complex mental health needs and diagnoses. I am experienced in supporting people experiencing difficulties in family relationships, including relationship break down and degenerative partner ill health and can support clients in managing STIs. I have experience in supporting people experiencing difficulties associated with gambling and other types of behaviour they have found unhelpful for themselves and those around them,
I have extensive experience working within both the public and private sectors and have worked with adults and families for many years. I have in-depth understanding in supporting adults experiencing stress, generalised anxiety and long term depression (both work and non - work related) and have specialist knowledge and experience of the education sector and in supporting parents of children with additional needs.
I have a particular interest in supporting clients for whom transvestism is causing difficulty for themselves or within everyday life and relationships
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

If you have experienced trauma in life and this continues to impact on you, I am fully trained to help you providing an approach which can give 'closure without disclosure'. Helping you recover from intrusive thoughts, memories and flashbacks and allowing you to move on in life.
I have a particular affinity for supporting clients who may be experiencing difficulties (both personally and in relationships) associated with transvestism and my sensitive approach ensures an environment where you will feel safe to discuss whatever is causing you difficulty.
