About me

A warm welcome to you.

My private practice is situated in the heart of Lancaster 5 minutes from the train station. At present all my clients are on Zoom and I offer 30 mins free to see what it's like to work with me. Most clients prefer face to face but so far all my clients have continued to work with me online. I have a deep passion and love for this kind of work, attuning deeply to the felt experience and so you will feel seen, felt and valued. This can be life changing and truly fulfilling and meaningful to you. It just takes one step, a step of great courage from you to begin and I will meet you here as you reach out and we will travel to places in yourself that maybe are too difficult to integrate alone!

I offer an invitation to a different kind of space online and this needs to be experienced.

A space to quieten and slow down and to feel more connected.

Gentle breathing, mindfulness, and a quality of stillness help to support this healing process.

My approach to psychotherapy is that I work with you in a way that is respectful, non-judgmental, sensitive and warm.  I believe that you have an inner sense of truth and wisdom within but need the space, stillness and unconditional presence to gain your own insights, autonomy and meaning. I am experienced in the field on individual, family and collective trauma.

Chronic feelings of anxiety and depression, overwhelming loneliness, grief and loss, persistent feelings of low self worth, stuck relationships, emotional suffering, stress and trauma are explored gently and offer potential portals for becoming more in contact with our essential and true self bringing more embodied experiencing, peace and fulfilment to our lives. We all have a right to be, to belong and to become!

I work with both individuals of all ages and also young people who can often feel very alone with outward pressures and who need support to gain more inner awareness and self belief to move forward.

We all wish to grow as human beings moving towards our potential and opening more deeply to the here and now of our experience, the intimacy of life. We are often lost in limiting thoughts-thoughts that are imprisoning and reactive and which induce negative feelings.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance within their ethical guidelines and principles. See www.bacp.co.uk for more information.

I have a lot of experience in working with a wide-range of mental health issues as a Therapist & Counsellor for South Lakeland Mind for many years.

Certificate in Focusing Oriented Therapy Level 1, 2 & 3.

Since 2019 I have been honoured to be training with Thomas Hübl who has written many books on Collective & Intergenerational Trauma, Mysticism, Attunement and Presence. At the core of his work is the principle that a human being has an ethical right to be, to belong and to become.

So far, I have attended -

Timeless Wisdom Training 6 (460 teachings hours) 2019-2021 (online & Germany)

I am now a part of Thomas Huebl's assistant team in training since 2022 which assists Thomas in Global Collective Trauma trainings internationally (attend workshops online & Germany) as well as his Core group (400 international members) that meets in the Netherlands twice a year.

Completed Collective Trauma Facilitator Training 2023 (online & Germany)

Co-mentoring and assisting Thomas online with healing Spiritual Trauma Nov 2023

Continue professional practice and self-care meeting in dyads, triads, quartets, and various study groups every two weeks practicing transparent communication & relational presence/resonance which is again fundamental to the principal of Thomas’s training.

I also work as a Counsellor for Cancercare Lancaster Slynesdale working with some very courageous people who are coming to terms with diagnosis, loss and bereavement and dealing with life issues & changes in relationships. This can help to cultivate a new perspective, have greater self understanding and help clients to feel supported to move forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
