About me

I am very comfortable in the realm of feelings and emotions and how they present in the body and this is reflected in my work.

Honesty and integrity are the qualities I most value in myself and so I will always be clear and open about how you feel the sessions are progressing.

If after our initial conversation, I feel I can’t support you in the way you may need I will say so and point you in the direction of someone who can.

If we start our journey together we begin with where you are right now. I am curious about your world and how it feels for you to be in it. I begin with building a relationship which is confidential, respectful and non-judgemental. Together we explore how you got here, drawing on threads from the past, establishing what you like and what you may consider changing.

Each week we begin where you are in that moment and work in a way that gives you what you need at that point. This may be a safe space to offload or to learn grounding skills and techniques to relax your mind or regulate your emotions. As well as talking therapy I may offer sand tray work and other creative ways to help you gain deeper insights and understanding about yourself.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor and a registered member of the BACP.

While I bring a wealth of life experience which informs my work and way of working  - therapy is about you and your experiences not mine and you are my sole focus when I am working with you.

I currently work with Ashford Counselling Services and also volunteer as a Grief Companion with The Compassionate Friends - a charity supporting parents bereaved of their child.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
