About me

Firstly, well done on making it this far.  Considering counselling and psychotherapy as a way of exploring your sense of self in this ever-so-difficult world is not an easy thing to do. The courage it takes to get this far is not missed by me, and if you go no further, just know that I will still be here when you're ready. This must go at your pace.

I am a qualified counsellor with a Level 6 PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and am also currently in my final year of an MSc in Psychotherapy at Warwick University, which upon completion will make me a UKCP accredited psychotherapist.  Psychotherapists work more in-depth, on a mid to long term basis with clients.  Our enhanced training in a vast number of modalities enables us to connect to all parts of a client, therefore enabling us to be versatile with our approach, putting you, as the client, in the centre of all that we do.

I primarily work with trauma, and welcome survivors of sexual abuse and domestic abuse, as well as those suffering Generalised Anxiety Disorder and depression.  My work is often in depth and mid to long term as my integrative approach enables myself and my client to work together to shine a light on their mask; a mask which one often wears to function and survive in a society that feels encroaching at times, or often difficult to face without ones mask firmly fitted.

I provide a safe and non-judgemental space to explore the thoughts and feelings around one's sense of who they are both to self, and in relationship with others. We've all felt difficulty in this and I welcome whoever you are and whatever you bring to our safe space.

I offer a free introductory 30 minute session so that we can meet each other, and you can see if you feel safe to share your world with me. It is a big ask, so this is an important stage. Following that, we will meet weekly at a set time and day.  Hourly fee will be discussed in our first meeting once we chat a little about your circumstances, and contracts will be sent and signed before we start our work. This is also incredibly important.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.  I am excited about the prospect of sharing your forward journey with you, and immensely privileged to be with those so courageous and determined.  We will do this together.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
